1800 miles on a 22 Powerboost and my average is only 19.7 right now. Haven’t been on any long trips yet but hope it gets better. If not, I should have kept my 21 Ecoboost.
I’m in the same boat. 1,200 miles. Mainly in town. 19-21 mpg. Maybe ours need little more break in time 🤷‍♂️

I hope mine just needs some break in time. It has to get a little better than this.

Regardless I’m happy. Better mileage than my 2020 3.5. Plus I use the generator with my camper.

not “apples to apples”, but my 5.0 4x4 got better mileage the more miles I put on on it.
pretty crappy til about 5k when it started improving.
My traveling is pretty much unencumbered rural and interstate.
40-50-80 mph.
averaging a bit over 20mpg now.

Be a bit patient, and it may very well sort itself out.

Moving to a very flat area, apparently.
I actually get my best mileage when there's some ups and downs to recharge the battery. My commute (about 10 miles each way) I can average 27 round trip multiple days in a row. But out on the highway doing 75+ I'm averaging about 21 whereas my 18 averaged 20 on the exact same route.

My driving / commute for work involves one way distances of 25 plus miles on freeways at 70 to 80 mph.. So I get about 19 mpg with premium gas and about 17 with regular..

More power to everyone else getting 20, 22 and more...

Freeway driving won’t giving those electric miles. Lite cruising, and city driving will.

So what is the “key” to getting good mpg?
I've got just under 50K on my 21 PB. The key around town has been to not stop unless you absolutely have to. On the highway the key has been to keep it under 75, over that and the MPG drops quick.

Live in flat desert here. Just dropped to 17.0 overall today with 3500 miles on a '22. I'm still hoping it gets better! Doesn't do all that great on the highways running 65-75 mph. Got 15.4 mpg's on my last 120 mile trip
Mine is a 4x4 with aftermarket shocks, not much lift and not quite leveled. 17" wheels with 285s.

Does the EPA not recognize any mpg difference from 4x4 to 4x2?

Just curious cause no one here mentioning mileage seems to even acknowledge if they are reporting a 4x4.

In most vehicles 4x4 cost about 2 mpg.

I'm just wrapping up my second tank on my used Powerboost (so already broken in) and this tank is Super vs. the dealer fill of regular and mpg is definitely increasing. It's not an instant process however as the engine adjusts I guess.

At first each typical drive on Super was consistently getting .5 mpg better than my tank average but every run (about 40 miles each) it just keeps getting a bit better regardless of drive cycle. The last few runs have consistently been 2mpg better than I started out and I'm actually accelerating considerably harder than I was initially.

I'll be curious what an entire tank of Super does this next week.

I live in FLA, as flat as you can get except for our Hills (overpasses). I get around 19-20mpg mostly city stop and go from light to light. I only have 6k miles on it. ECO mode full time.

Well i just hit 10k and its bone stock other then a bed liner and cover. I dont drive 70mph often, and I dont mash the gas. Its a 4x4 157" lariat. Currently im at 19mpg but i did just tow my boat 700 miles and got 13.4mpg doing it. So i expect to build it back up to 21 or so where I was at prior to the trip.

Eastern shore of VA is the best place on earth. Used to go the Cape Charles a few times a year to camp and fish. Great biking too.

Well... I used to be severely disappointed in my PB mileage, but I have just grown to accept it.

I am only getting around 16.5 MPG on my 2021 PB Lariat.
I think that is because:
  1. I replaced the stock tires with LT285/65R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
(Each is 20lbs heavier than stock and "stickier" ... according to the "tire guy")
  2. I leveled the truck
  3. The vast majority of my driving is short runs around town. Nashville isn't "mountainous" but there is a LOT of stop-and-go traffic. So, very little cruising around at 40 mph on full electric.
Although, I did drive from CA to TN and didn't get much better mileage, but that was all highway at 70+ mph.
I think when I get through these tires, I'll go down to some lighter non-LT ones. I don't really have a need for LT tires, I just got caught up in the excitement of a new truck. :)

Pretty much everything that I've done to the truck would negatively affect MPG... but it looks good. :)
(Except the stubby antenna and tonneau cover.)
