Enjoy the 2.7, very impressed with power. Last 2 trucks have been F250's. Next truck will be the 5.0 for no other reason than I miss having a Ford V8.

12 years with 3.5 never any issues with it but read tons of complaints on forums. Found out Gen 14 still has same issues per forums. I didn't want to deal with more Ford trying to figure out how to get timing chains correct. Could not find anything anywhere bad about the 2.7 motor. Purposely sought it out because I don't really tow and if I did it wouldn't be anything huge. Just by luck found the truck I'm driving as a custom order Canadian truck imported back to states. 99% of what I would have ordered on a new truck and I expect a lot of years out of it.

Majority of my driving is zipping between stoplights and the 2.7 is great for my city commute with excellent MPG. I agree with what was said above it's a mistake to remove it from the Lariat trim for 2024. Great little motor.

A 5.0 hybrid is about the only way I will buy another truck before this one is 10 years old. That would force me back to the dealer sooner than expected :ROFLMAO:.
It's not really out of the question as it'd be easier on the 10r80 than the 3.5 is. Ford really needs to up their hybrid offerings with larger batteries and electric motors. They pretty much have to for CAFE.

Bought a new 2023 Ford F150 Crew Cab 4x4 STX, 2.7 with 3.55 gears. Like the truck a lot. But I do wish I had the V8.
For the sound and feel. But it is what is. Read good things about the 2.7.
Does anyone else wish they bought the V8 instead?

The dealership where I bought this truck had about $7,400 off on all the 2.7 STX. So I went with it. Also I have auto / start delete. Which is good.
I had a 2022 with the same configuration, crew cab 2.7 & 3.55 gears and in may of last year traded it in for a 2023 with the 5.0. I don’t think the engine alone merits trading it in. From what I’ve seen the 5.0s unless equipped/ordered with a different gear ratio come with 3.31, it’s nice, sounds good but if you’re not getting other upgrades with it I’d keep it.
When I went shopping for the first one I told myself I would not buy an eco boost for any whatever reason and sure enough that’s all they had. I was getting rid of a 21 Durango that was a flat out pos. After driving the 2.7 I was super impressed

I bought an F150 because of the 2.7.

It's reliable, easy to work on, good on gas, and will still scoot to 60 far faster than you'd realistically would need to.

There was a time I thought I made a mistake. But that has long passed.

I found it a little quiet but I found out the fake engine noise wasn't turned on from factory so a little Forscan and while no V8, sounds much more pleasant.

I was not aware fake engine noise was possible on our trucks. Not that I want it but I have noticed it doesn't seem to be on.

+1 for the 2.7 w/ payload package. This was my first truck and I was drawn in by the engine offering in a half-ton. As a commuter vehicle, I've been super pleased with it. Was nervous moving from car-ownership to truck-ownership how bad the fuel hit would be, but it's only slightly worse than my wife's 2.5L Forester. As a towing vehicle, I'm excited to see what it can do. We're looking at TT's in the 20-22ft range (3100-3600lb dry) which I think this truck will be able to handle with ease.

This is my first truck and was set on getting a V8 but selection was very sparse in the CPO market in 2023 so I settled for the 2.7 due to needing a truck. I honestly thought I would regret it and would sell it as soon as I found something else. 1 year and 26K miles later, I wouldn't give this truck and powertrain up unless I needed to tow more. If that were the case, I'd move directly to a Super Duty.

My truck is my daily driver so its general errands, dropping kids off at school during the week and then towing the fun car to the track on the weekends. I don't ever feel like I need more power and surprisingly, I love how quiet the rig is.

December of 21 put together a 22 XLT 302a 2.7EB payload package truck. Now at 12K miles and with the lighter towing requirements, 6900GVWR, 3.73 axle ratios this meets all the present needs. Now in 2nd winter and no frozen door latches and the only issues so far are the typical Ford recalls all fixed along with a failed battery replacement in January of 23. Cost wise to put together a 2.7EB payload package it is mostly a wash money wise to a 5.0 with towing vehicle

2nd choice in vehicle engine would be 5.0 but then it also would have be in a Tremor with towing.

Back in 16 bought a 6600 GVWR 2.7 501a Lariat with 3.55 gearing and towing. Liked the 2.7EB but the truck was light on towing requirements and from the first cold snap to spring the door latches froze, 18 went to a 502a lariat 3.5EB max tow and it more ore less had the same issues for trading the 16 Ford's failure to address frozen door latches in the colder climates.

Payload package is only thing I would have added to my truck if I bought it new.

'11 XLT 5.0 (6-SPD, 3.55 gears, 122K miles driven) & '18 STX 5.0 (10-SPD, 3.10 gears 60K miles driven), rolling now in a '21 2.7 (10-SPD, 3.55 gears, 62K and only going up). Loved my Coyotes, however this 2.7L 4x4 has me giddy everytime I get behind the wheel. No regrets, just enjoying the ride.

Took the truck on a 75 km road trip. Kept her at 95 km/h most of the way.

In freedom units that's 28 mpg. No way am I getting that out of the Coyote.

My first 2.7 had the chain drive oil pump.. this second gen has a cog belt. but so does the 5.0 so i think it is pretty much a tie.

The only engine that ever let me down on the road was a Ford 2.4 mustang II which lost its timing belt...

I specifically sought out the 2.7 for reliability, low end torque and gas mileage.

The 5.0 was the worst of the engines I test drove IMHO. Same with the 5.3 and 5.7 in the Silverado/RAM.

The turbo engines are just more fun around town and quieter.
