Ford has a performance tune for the 2.7 Bronco. Ford needs to get one out for the F150. I think the Bronco tune gets you like 25 horsepower and 30 or so more torque. That is on premium fuel I believe.

Sometimes I do wish I got the 5.0 for my 2023. Just bc you can get a supercharger installed with factory warranty. As of now, you can not even get a tune for a 2023 2.7.
Same boat. I got a 2023 with the 2.7 and sometimes wish I'd gotten the 5.0 since there are actually available tunes for it. I know tuning a NA engine won't result in much power compared to tuning the ecoboosts, but at least there's an option. I've been told by every tuning company they won't be able to tune 2023+ ecoboost F150s...

The 2.7 was the only engine I wanted because I liked my sons 16 model
I really only use my truck to pull my little boats or other minor hauling things like furniture
Mine is a 22 STX and love the truck overall
The big downside of the 2.7 and I can’t see the 3.5 would be much better at this is issues issues living in the mountains
The 2.7 is an absolute puss with engine braking compression
Its just a math thing
My 15 Tacoma had the 2.7 4cyl a dog for power but had similar engine compression on a lighter truck
The 5.0 that I think is more like 4.8 L not sure would have about 70% more engine breaking compression as the 2.7
I could care less about engine sound and I think the 2.7 sounds great and love the MPG
Even without towing when descending the steep mountains in WV I end up downshifting to 2nd gear to get holdback and not burning up the brakes with the engine roaring but I never allow it to get even close to redline
I fear this will be very tough on the tranny over time
If you live in the flatlands 2.7 would be my only choice
In the mountains go with the 5.0
Interesting you'd go with the 2.7 in flat and the 5.0 in the mountains. I'd personally say the opposite. ...but I am living at 8,700' altitude so I notice a massive power loss with any NA engine up here. I want any vehicle I have to be turbo'd. At sea level, I'd definitely take the 5.0

The 2.7 trucks are light. They either did or do have the light frame, light springs, light rear end. So they are very snappy and responsive down low. The one I test drove was a typical "low option" 302a and it was very impressive below 50mph, much more than the 5.0 2020 I traded in. On the highway it wasn't slow, but wasn't remotely quick either. The 5.0 I had and the 3.5 I have now pull much harder on the highway.

Payload package from my understanding uses the beefier frame but otherwise yes they are lighter. That doesn't stop them from towing decent amount. Can't speak to the highway part. Nearly identical HP between my old 2011 3.5 and modern 2.7 so I'm not missing anything.

For shits and giggles I decided to drive 105km/h for 200 km when I went to get my IGLA installed... 32.7 MPG equivalent.

I, however, enjoy the boost in Ecoboost so I won't be seeing these numbers ever again. :ROFLMAO:

Sport mode is fun. :)

I'm really impressed with the power in just normal mode though. Even Eco isn't as bad as I thought. Been using that for a few tanks to see if it makes any difference at all in average mileage.

I have a 36 gallon tank so it takes a while to go through it. 🤣
I want one more tank to compare.

So far I don't think it makes much difference though vs normal.
After this I'll probably run only sport for a couple tanks of gas and compare that to normal.
