Did your 2.7 come with an engine cover

They stopped putting an engine cover on 2.7 a couple years ago.

They have never put an engine cover on a F150 5.0, only on the Mustang 5.0.

thanks, I’m bringing it in to the dealer to get the rear axle rust issue taken care of and was going over the truck to find anything else they should look at/fix while it’s in.

Engine covers help reduce noise from them. The 5.0 makes really nice noises so, no need to quiet them.

I hate those engine covers, just another piece of plastic you need to worry about breaking when you work on a car.

Pure speculation but it’s possible they’re being omitted for more than one reason. I know that manufacturers have been challenged with newer pedestrian safety requirements, one of those is called ”the Bowling Ball test,” where a test head is swung against the hood to measure G-force and maximizing deformable area is key to that test.

That was the first question I asked when I picked mine up. “Hey, the engine cover is missing.” They checked other 2.7s and found none had a cover. Answered my question quickly.

My 2016 2.7 had the cover. This deletion of the cover kind of makes it appear unfinished.

There is no 2021 2.7 engine cover. You have to use the part number for years 2015 through 2018. Refer to post #9.

Would the engine cover from 2015-2020 2.7 EB F-150s fit the 2021 F-150, 2.7 EB? I heard the Ford service tech telling me a while back, it’s the same engine?
