87 octane always. I did run three straight tanks of the premium stuff to see if it would make a difference in the amount of kilometres I would get per tank but the difference was very insignificant so I’ve stuck to my regular gas.

You realize that the rated power that is listed in the paperwork is when running 93 and not 87 correct? Just because the book says it's OK to run 87 does not mean 93 has no use.

Fill up with 89. Engine just runs most efficient when using this grade. Average about 22 mpg mix driving. Don't have long expansive roads to drive on here, haven't experienced significant improvement with 91 and even when running 87 over a few tanks the engine just feels sluggish and lethargic. Bought in February '21 and nearing 45k miles on Oahu's roads. It's my daily and I'm shocked how little you mainland folks drive.

85 is supposed to be equivalent to 87 octane at 5800 ft. Its all you can find in Colorado. My 04 has occasionally knocked on 85, which tells me the geniuses choosing what to stock are full of crap about 85 being basically the same. It never has knocked at lower elevation with 87. FWIW, stations that stock ethanol free are marking their ethanol free as 87 octane.

So far, I've only used 85 in my 2.7 and it's been great. I do want to try filling on a tank of ethanol free one day to see how much the mpg improves with a much more energy dense fuel. We're talking 4$+ a gal though. I have been getting 85 for like 2.50 lately because of a new gas station that opened and decided to engage in a price war for the last 2 months. Costco is still like 3.50.

With the 85 (mind you, it's not E85), my 22 is getting 27mpg if you're careful. I've gotten more than 27 on quite a few occasions in the first month of ownership.

Correct. I've run 93 in all of our EcoBoost products, from a Focus ST, to the wifes Explorer, etc.

Mo power, mo reliable, mo better in the hot summer.

Seems like most F-150 buddies I know in my province (Canada) right now switched to regular instead of premium grade due to rising gas prices. Unfortunately carbon tax went up again, as of April 1st so you get the reason why now haha.

Also sticking to 87 octane. Truck runs great, 24 mpg (minimum)in warmer temperature (22 in winter). Can’t ask for anything better for a full sized truck.
