Let’s show off what these trucks are made of. Arguably the best of the two Ecos, I’ll kick it off.

Here’s our camper - 4800lb dry, probably 5500 with all of the crap and WDH etc.

Truck pulls it like a toy. 2021 with 3.55 locker, 44k miles. Bought brand new.

Who else is doing work with these badass trucks?

Dump trailer, scaled at 8100 lbs with 4 yards of compost. Only tow this a few days a year.

Edit: I agree with post below this, tow/haul mode with engine breaking really makes these heavier loads on a half ton more manageable. Big fan.

Noticed in another thread that you have the 2.7 Payload Package. Are you able to post a picture of your frame ID sticker?

Thanks @KTM753 !!
Makes me feel better that the 2.7 Payload package has the same frame. Guess it is just the axle that changes with the 3.73 gears.

Noticed several 5.0 powered gen14 f150s with the 8.8, even in 157” WB. Those payloads are ~2000lb and over 7000lb GVW.

Don’t mind my grime from the Fluid Film frame coating.

Love this thread! Wife and I have been talking about getting a TT, but because of the 2.7 I was trying to keep dry weight to about 3,000 to 3,500 lbs. Nice to see some bigger hauls happening with these engines 😁

I am glad I had enough foresight to go with the 2.7 payload package, sounds like that's a massive help here.

My best friend pulls 8500lb, well above the “weight rating” for towing with ease with his 2.7 specced just like mine. He added roadmaster active suspension. Says there is more than enough engine still. YMMV

I’ve towed 7k lb trailers/loads that tow easier than a camper, campers are aerodynamic disasters. That’s the biggest drawback.

There's plenty of evidence that the 2.7 is the best motor available. Great balance between economy and ability.

@kb2755 Congrats on the truck! I was under the impression that you could not get 2.7 Payload package with Sport Appearance Package.
I've had the truck for a year and a half, but appreciate the congratulations regardless!

Not sure if the ordering guide changed for '23 but it wasn't a problem at all for my '22.

I also didn't know you could do SPORT w/Payload, though LT's come in 20's too so why not.

Not that much of a "haul" about 3000 lb. But it handles it better than my 2002 5.4 V8 did. And, I think it looks really nice! Only got the Tow Tech because this is my largest load. Was apprehensive about the 2.7 when I got it, not now.
