I haven’t had a chance to get pictures yet, we’re in snow town right now! But I did remove the rear blocks also. I had about 3.75” rake on a 2022 SCAB, 4wd, sport model. I think it looks a lot better, truck won’t be towing or even hauling too much so I’m not too concerned about squat later. So I removed them, bought 2wd u-bolts, and at the same time replaced the factory shocks with Bilstein 5100’s. Also torqued down with above specs, thanks @Zyvin !
Here’s a few pictures I snapped this morning. I’m happy with the looks now, still has same rake.

Removed the blocks on my 2021 F150 SCAB 4x4 today. Removed the nuts on the U bolts and jacked the springs. Straight forward job except getting to 110 FT/lb on the torque wrench. A workout for this almost 66 yo. haha. Looks much better now, happy with the result. Would take some pics, but the truck needs a bath first.

Anyone know the size difference between the three types of rear blocks?

Would be awesome if one of them was ~1.0".

Just removed mine today.
Lariat 6.5' bed, Super Crew
Max Tow, 4x4

Took 1 inch out of the fender to tire gap, defiantly enough to take away the obvious rake of the truck, certainly not level, but I sure like it this way better.

Original U-bolts are just barely long enough, but they are long enough. I'd recommend installing some washer to keep from bottoming out the nuts, upon reinstall.

What purpose do the blocks serve and how does it affect the ride quality? I might want to do this to mine. Thanks

The blocks simply lift the rear of the truck, for 2 reasons. One; so that when it is loaded up it will sit about level, and two the front down, rear up rake/angle helps to improve airflow around truck for highway fuel efficiency. If you remove the blocks, you could lose up to 0.5 MPG...maybe. Really doesn't make enough difference that you could actually notice, unless you were in a lab.

removing rear blocks to level - absoutely awesome idea. I've wanted to level my truck as well, but I didn't want to level by lifting the front. I'm going to be doing this very soon after I learn what needs to be done by reading everying here.

I just removed my rear blocks today. The blocks were 1.25" in height. I used a 13/16" diameter socket that was 3.25" long I got from a Craftsman 1/2" drive set I got years ago. I picked up a torque ratchet at AutoZone using their loan a tool program. The tool was broken, which I didn't know until I tried to use it. I just tightened the snot out of the bolts. Definitely tighter than factory and I didn't compress the axle that I know of:eek:

I'm sorry I dont have any before or after pictures. My truck is a '21 F-150 SC 4x4 145" WB.

Is pinion angle a concern with this mod or not because it's not changing the axle position, rather, the bed position?

Just removing the block should not alter the pinion angle enough to warrant the shim. I did two inch shackles AND removed the block for 3.25" that's why I used a 2.5 degree shim.

Wondering if anyone has tried removing these on a 2021 yet, and if there's any issues? Does the 2WD not come with these 1" blocks? I was thinking of removing them and adding Fox 2.0, set to 1" to retain 1" of rake and improve handling. My 4x4 Sport w/o FX4 has 3" of rake stock.
