Remind me what the extended warranty sweet spot is? 100k/7 years?

I remember a post on here outlining what the sweet spot cost wise was for the extended warranty. I cannot find it through the search function. If I remember right it was 7 years and 100k miles? After that it jumped up in price quite a bit I believe.

I have 2022 Powerboost and I'm thinking about buying this warranty for it. Would you guys recommend this?

Granger still the cheapest option to buy a warranty from? Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Go here and enter in your trucks info:

https://grangerfordextendedwarranty.com

You will get the best charts on the internet and it will easily let you see what will work for you. The key is how many miles a year you typically drive. Don't overbuy unless you looking for flexibility in the miles you drive. Good luck.

Depends on how much you drive 🤷

I went for the 140,000 because I put 30,000/year on

I am strongly considering the 8 years / 100k miles PremiumCare with a $100 deductible and the stated price seems fair to me. As mentioned though, it all depends how much you drive.

there are three great on line vendors.. I can vouch for Ziegler, though. I initially did 5 yr and 75k miles and then as new car prices exploded.. increased it to 7 years and 100k. I might add more - maybe 8 yrs and 125k miles. I think it is really how long before you cycle into a new truck. My Lariat 502A is $9k higher in price than when I ordered it.. Go forward 5 or 6 years and the same truck will be over a hundred ks... so I am going have to get eight to ten years out of them instead of five years. I think if you spend another thousand bucks on a warranty now to defer spending a hundred thousand two or three years it will look like you were on the ball.. five or six years from now.

I want my ride to be an f150 as long as I can swing it. On the other hand, my pay went up $200 a month and the truck is going up $700 a month.. so I will have get ready for a maverick next time.

have a Lariat and selecting Premium over Extracare is probably necessary - when I think about what could go wrong, it's many "high tech" category things that could be costly (power mirrors with cameras, power steering wheel position, power tailgate, camera in tailgate, Bluecruise, trailer towing tech, the hitch scale, cameras in places I've not yet noticed) some of which aren't even on the PDF, though I'm assuming 1,000 things means nearly anything?

Thank you for all of the responses. I feel like the Interior / Exterior Lighting add on for $70 is probably worth it? I have a Lariat.

Pretty sure its the 7 yr/100k, as you suggested. That is what I picked up from Granger with the $100 deductible and lighting add-on.

I went with 10 yr/100k. We also have a van, and for three seasons I'm on a motorcycle as much as possible. If I don't keep it that long, I can cash out for the difference.
I went with all of the options, mighty cheap "insurance" for 10 years! A couple of years ago a single headlight unit would start at $700, hate to think what they are now. What are the odds that at least one light will fail over ten years? Or a key fob die or get lost over ten years? I look at the ESP as insurance rather than take my chances, especially for something as complex as the Powerboost.

So, are most adding the lighting option and key option? Rental options?

I added the LED lighting option. I have a Lariat 502A with BAP and the LED lights are not like the old lights where you change the bulb. With the LED lights you change the whole unit. Worth the $70. I skipped the key and rentals. You get some rental anyway.

With the key I bought one of the spare ones for $80 and programmed it myself since I have both already. That give me 3 programmed keys so I could lose one and still have 2. Programming was easy.

Do these extended warranties cover the moon roof? I've heard tales both ways...
