Tore apart the boring XLT grille and had it painted Agate black and Lead Foot. Came out pretty good.

That's how they should have come from the factory. Looks great!

FYI, you can run a jumper off of this under hood fuze and the lights will be keyed on.

3) Lastly I installed the 60" Putco Freedom Tailgate Light Bar. I wish I had happier things to say about this product. It advertises as a plug and play installation...and it is...for the most part...
The plug and play part is the connection to the tail lights which was super easy and simple, but the rest of the install was an utter nightmare for me.

Yeah, I installed my Freedom bar and it was NOT as plug & play and they make it seem. I was a little disappointed that it functions rather slowly for certain things, especially at night when the taillight is on.

Indeed, we lowly XLTers don’t have da harness this assembly connects to. I went with the Ford Perimeter Plus instead. Better IMO.

Next week, adding aftermarket paint matched hood scoop and cab spoiler, and sound deadening front doors.

Functioning right in which sense? My issue is something they chalked up to a limitation of the hardware and software. Curious as to what your issue was that they resolved. They told me that if they update the software, they'll swap out my control box.

I was offered a free item for my aggravation.

2 Things today:

1- Installed the 4DTech can opener which unlocks speed restricted controls and menus on the SYNC touchscreen (Address Entry for Navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Music Search, Bluetooth Pairing, Etc. The music search on my USB drive was the motivator for me. Annoying that we could do a lot but not search our music.

2- Replaced my A/C controls for the one with the temp readouts. I still have the temps on the screen and I'll get around to removing that the next time I fire up FORSCAN.
