Maybe some day the engineers will have a motor driven cam assembly that can add more rear spring rate for towing and then flip a switch and go back to unladen great ride. Or go back to the days of air shocks that can be aired up for loads. Flip a tow/haul switch and sag is gone from tongue weight of beefy trailer. Sticking trucks butt in air from factory seems like an archaic way to make suspension design.

I think the bigger limitation from the factory on towing and payload is actually the tires. You can't have low(ish) ply tires that are optimized for light weight and fuel economy and expect to carry a ton.

I took off the OEM Scorpions on the first day and switched to actual truck tires for this very reason. Also added air bags before bringing the truck home. We cannot increase axle or gross vehicle weight rating, but we can make the real world capacity higher by beefing up components. It does not help with legal coverage, so I stay within specs (barely) but it does add to real world safety cushion - and adds to comfort.

I have a king ranch coming just like yours except without bedcover . I do have spray in bedliner tho. That would mean I’m closer to 1300 lbs?

Question: do you have max tow?

Yep, the bed cover was on my 2013, 2015, 2018 and was able to use it on the 2021. Bed cover is 9 years old and truck 1 year. Lol

I tow a bass boat that is almost 5,000 lbs and it pulls it like it's not even there.

You are going to love this truck!

Amazing! Do you have a photo of your bass boat? What length? I’m thinking of getting a boat too 😂

I got the truck for the same reasons, more for family than for towing trailer

18.5 ft Ranger with a 150 hp. This is with my 2015 KR taken several years back. It's a great boat, had since late 2012 and have had no issues at all. I'm retired since 2012 so it has a ton of hours on it.
