My dad has a '19 ranger and it's definitely pretty capable! 7500 lbs towing capacity, theoretically, - BUT, no easy way to add a trailer brake controller... stupid.
IMO, no offense intended, but 1300+ lbs of payload for a ranger isn't amazing or anything. More like, under 1500 lbs payload in a full size truck is ... inadequate.
Some of the classic Ram 1500s from the late teens would get all the way down to under 1000lbs of payload, truly pathetic heavy pigs. I was interested in an EcoDiesel for a little while until I learned how sorry that platform really is.
