My dad has a '19 ranger and it's definitely pretty capable! 7500 lbs towing capacity, theoretically, - BUT, no easy way to add a trailer brake controller... stupid.

IMO, no offense intended, but 1300+ lbs of payload for a ranger isn't amazing or anything. More like, under 1500 lbs payload in a full size truck is ... inadequate. ;)

Some of the classic Ram 1500s from the late teens would get all the way down to under 1000lbs of payload, truly pathetic heavy pigs. I was interested in an EcoDiesel for a little while until I learned how sorry that platform really is.

Boo yah. I do kinda hope to inherit this truck someday from my pops, it kicks ass and he barely drives it.
