Was setting up the hitch today for the truck. I want to say it doesn't go quite as far in as it did on my Sierra. Should it be this loose? I do have the anti rattle clamp. Not sure what else I could do? Recurve R6

Like the others said, that does seem excessive to me. I’ve not ran a weight distribution hitch on my truck before but I use a B&W stow and go and it’s not nearly that loose. I even run an anti-rattle pin on mine to keep out the extra slack, but my OCD would drive me crazy if my hitch moved that much.

I’m running a Blue Ox WDH and it isn’t a whole lot tighter than the one you’re using at rest. But I don’t worry about it. When I engage the spring bars and get the distribution I want, enough upward torque is put on the hitch that it really doesn’t wobble while towing. An occasional clunk if I hit hit a good bump but that’s about it. But no question—the receiver is pretty shallow and the hitch sticks out a bit further than it did on my previous truck.

Yeah, once the weight is on it, it's fine. But I wonder when hitting bumps, would it move more?

Sure. That’s been my experience. But it isn’t too bad. Not enough to make me think something’s wrong. If you find there’s too much wobble, take another look at your set up and confirm you are getting adequate distribution. If you’re under-distributed, it will wobble more.

So I reached out to Camco, just to see what they'd say. I guess they changed the shank from tapered to square. They're sending me out the square as a warranty replacement 👍

I use a pintle hook and leunette ring and have less play than that!

We never reuse a used hitch like that...................If it does not have a weight sticker on it........We would not use it for safety reasons..................

Not sure what you mean. It's my hitch. Has a sticker on it.

My weight distribution hitch has barely any wiggle at all once I slide it into the receiver. Hopefully the new part does the trick

I also have the Recurve R6 and I don't that amount of play at all. In fact, it is pretty tight with barely any wobble with just the hitch head as shown in your video.

Hmm.... Shackles instead of quick links. I never would have thought of that. I'm surprised they fit though the hole in the hitch.
