That’s excessive. But looks like the new shank will help. My hitch has some but not nearly that much. It does slop fore and aft as the hitch pin hole on the shank is at the max end of tolerance. I talked to curt about it and they said even if I got a new shank, they couldn’t guarantee the hole would be smaller.
Curt’s claim is that with the proper amount of tongue weight, it won’t move. I disagree. I actually reset my hitch from what the dealer did and it feels better, so I think there are a few more things than tongue weight in play.

I also have the Recurve R6 and I don't that amount of play at all. In fact, it is pretty tight with barely any wobble with just the hitch head as shown in your video.

Is yours tapered or squared ?

It is slightly chamfered on the corners which should not cause any wobbling.

Was setting up the hitch today for the truck. I want to say it doesn't go quite as far in as it did on my Sierra. Should it be this loose? I do have the anti rattle clamp. Not sure what else I could do? Recurve R6

Is that a F150 0r a super Duty. Ive got a friend who just got a new Super Duty and the receiver is larger that 2". I think hi is 2 1/8 or 2 1/4. I didnt know ther made one larger than a 2" but he has the max tow package. He went to U-Haul and got a bushing to tighten his up. He evevntually bought a new hit to fit correctly

It looks like the the width is correct but the height liiks to be a bit narrow. Check with U Haul or Tractor Supply, ASgri Supply co. My friend ended up getting a sleeve/bushing from the and it snugged it up. Good Luck

Go back a few more posts and you'll see Camco is sending me a replacement shank ;)

To me, its clear that your shank measure 1 7/8 in, not 2 in. It may even be a little less than that. Of course, like my hitch pin issue, I am sure if you inquire with the manufacturer you will find out there is a tolerance and its probably within that. From how bent the anti-rattle clip looks, I'd probably leave it off regardless of it you sort it out, as its probably wearing the receiver more on the outside (adding more ability to rust) than actually doing any anti-rattle stuff.

I have a anti-rattle for mine and haven't used it yet, though I was going to use it to try and remove my fore/aft slop because of the hitch pin. I have thought of having a small sleeve insert made for the shank, but at the end of the day I'm likely overthinking it all anyway.

Your amount of slop would cause me to replace the shank. Its nice they are sending a warranty replacement, but if that doesn't help, I'd be bothered enough to buy a new hitch.
