I see lots of adjustable options; B&W, weighsafe, gen-y?

would appreciate everyone’s recommendations/reviews.

Love my adjustable B&W. You have to call them and they'll send you a piece of metal to “lock” the hitch and keep it from being stolen. Its free and its in the instruction manual.

And just to overload you, I use the Weigh Safe with all three ball sizes with matched locking pins and the nice carry case. Keeps everything neat and tidy!

I am partial to the blue ox sway pro , that I use. I would like to try a weighsafe , they seem like a very interesting solution.

I thought so too. Until reading the Weigh Safe specifications and seeing their WDH is 133.5 lbs – 146 lbs!

It really depends on the weights you're towing.

If under 7k, a regular Walmart 2" should be adequate.

If over 7k and needing a WDH, that's a whole different convo.

Thats for the heavy weight. The middle weight is still quite beefy but according to their spec sheet, mine weights 108 lbs.

Pros.
I like having the gauge a lot. So much better than guessing and hoping. Though I do wish it was in finer increments.

Once your measurements are put into the app and saved, its so simple and fast to use, you can literally adjust for each load. Loosen the lock nut, move the adjusting screw to what the app tells you to dial the gauge in to, tighten the lock nut. You're set. No taking anything back apart, or washers to guess with.

Porposing? Whats that? There was zero. Same for sway. I felt the bumps and the wind but only once, per incident.

Cons.
Its heavy. Having the gauge and super easy design, costs weight.

Because of the design, the truck's computer confuses the adjustment mechanism as the ball. Messes with the camera guidance a little. There may be a calibration adjustment I can make but I haven't dug into it.

This may not be fair to call it a con but it is at least a question mark but at this point, its kinda my fault.

Using the app alone, once we got to the Cat Scales, there was less weight on my front axle than I anticipated. The good news, is that it sent it to the trailer axle. It wasn't a problem driving, or even eyeballing but I wish when I set it up, I had also followed Ford's measurement procedure, as a confirmation. I will do that but I'll have to take it to a paved parking lot somewhere to do it.

Would I buy it again?

Since I want maximum adjustability and plan multiple trips across the Plains and the Rockies, yes.

For a couple semi local trips to the boat dock per yr? No, I'd choose something lighter and cheaper.

A second vote for the blue ox sway pro that I use for my 6500lb travel trailer. I've had one since 2016 and it's worked pretty well for me. Yes, porpoising can happen, especially on concrete pavement with expansion joints, but it doesn't seem to be a safety issue...just annoying. I'd rather have the quiet operation and deal with the occasional porpoising than the constant metal-on-metal squealing from those friction-activated WDHs. I like it so much that I'm planning on buying a second one to replace the first one that I've pretty much worn out over the last 7 years.

However, in @Limitedlifestyle 's situation, that (or any WDH) might be overkill. I doubt that any Uhaul trailer would be heavy enough to require a WDH. I don't know about boat trailers, but I suspect that many boats would be light enough to not need one, either.

I also use the WeighSafe Middleweight. I like the tongue weight scale built in and it is easy to set up.

I have the B&W, like you will do, I use it infrequently but I am able to tow whatever I need with it. I have the three ball version. And it tucks away very nicely while not in use.

My 2022 with the Max Tow package has a hitch rated for 11,100 lbs with the use of a weight distributing hitch.

A great place for advice and to buy towing products is etrailer.com.

I also use the adjustable B&W. It’s the two ball version. It makes it much easier to go from horse trailer to boat trailer.
