Do you only need to order the one nut and bolt and just reuse the existing hardware for the other locations if you are not installing the oil drain cover?
If you have the fiberboard cover you can reuse the two bolts and nuts from the rear and two of the 8mm head bolts for the front. You will need two nuts and bolts for the front frame attachment points.
If your truck did not come with the fiberboard cover you need four of the nuts and bolts for the frame and the two 8mm head bolts.

I just installed the plate on a 22 XLT Powerboost tonight.
Thanks for posting your results on moving the coolant lines for that fourth bolt. Might do the same with a button head bolt when I am under there for next oil change.

Terrific thread! Thanks to all posters/contributors. I'm going to get underneath my truck and confirm that I have the necessary holes, and then will be ordering parts. But, one quick question: I've seen a posts of the plate being installed on a 157" wb truck. My Lariat is a 145". I don't foresee why that would change anything, but I might as well throw the question out there - can anyone confirm that this will work on a '22 EB, 145" wb?

Yes. It's been installed on many Tremors (only 145").
Yep, installed on my 22 Tremor, super easy. Just make sure you have the holes in your frame to insert the bolt clips (not sure what they are actually called).

Great find! For a new buyer, this plus a shock upgrade is a better/cheaper option over the stock FX4 package.

I did get the oil drain cover. Take little cover off and drain plug is a top.
Thanks for all this info! I’m going to order the skid plate and related bolts/nuts from Ford for my 2023 XLT EB 145” 4x4.

Do we need to order the oil drain cover (HL3Z-7222-F) in addition to the skid plate? If so, does the drain cover come with the necessary bolts/nuts or do we also need to order additional ones (W500623-S439 &W520813-S439)?

Every single piece is sold separately.

Do we need the oil drain cover or can we just buy the skid plate if we’re trying to protect the catalytic converter?

Find my post on this thread. I listed my entire order and will include everything needed. You will reuse the two front bolts from existing cover.

I understand that you decided to get oil drain cover and the appreciate you posting your full order. I’m just curious if getting the oil drain cover is absolutely necessary to provide full protection and/or to allow easier oil changes, or if it’s completely optional and some people only installed the skid plate to protect their catalytic converter.
