I ran some rough tests on my ProPower today. Results were less than desirable.
Used 2 heat guns (like a hair dryer). Couldn't maintain anything over 1600W on the Ford Display.
With the heat guns set on a load of 1400W the output voltage was running at 107.2V fairly decent sign wave, but looks to have a lot of harmonics on it.
The real sad part is, even with a soft starter, I doubt this system will run a small AC on my travel trailer.

Yeah, probably need the 7.2 Kilowatt with Powerboost one for that. Aren't most camper air conditioners 30 amps? I don't think I'd want to run my truck engine all the time to power a camper anyways. The good news is you can power a mini fridge and have cold beer.

Haha, yeah likely. I added the 2kw to my build on whim. I can power my camper AC on household 15a circuit. So I assumed the ProPower would suffice. It could not start the AC so then I was thinking I’d just get a soft starter for it, but from the tests I ran today I don’t think that will even be enough.

I think what irritates me the most is that flyer. It says 120v 20a but that is total BS. I could only get 1400W at 107v so about 13A.

Im curious, what do you get with the 2kW? What does it look like? Do you get just one plug? I'm considering changing my order to have it. As it stands my order has been pushed til October so I'm not too concerned at this point.

With the 2kW Pro Power, you get a large inverter (converts 12v DC battery to 120v AC) an extra battery and a second battery charging alternator.
You also get the ProPower Generator mode, software. Keep in mind the 2kW needs to have the truck engine running all the time to work. (Unlike the hybrid trucks 2.4kW or 7.2kW, where the truck will only run to recharge the hybrid battery).

There is 1 outlet on the dash, 1 outlet in back seat, and a dual outlet in the bed of the truck.

The inverter is under the backseat, so there used to be some storage space there that you lose.

Does anyone know if the folding storage will work with the 2kw propower? I had heard you couldn't do it on the b&p but I also heard it'll fit

Just a cooling fan. I'd say similar to a desktop computer fan. It does make some 'white' noise, nothing bothersome. And if the radio is on you can't tell it's running.

That 107V is at a point that it's bad for electronics. The numbers they advertise sounds more like the 2.4KW. I wouldn't expect the 2KW to be more than 15A continuous run.

Yeah the 2kW Inverter Ford has in these, doesn't even seem like it can manage that. I tried some hot plates last night, so strictly resistive load, at 1000 watts it ran well, still maintained 110v. At 1100 watts it starts dropping off down to 108.8v and beyond that its down around 107v. At least on the one in my truck.

It does have a no load voltage of 124v. I need to get a better, finer load to test with, but I'm fairly disappointed in it so far.

I've found similar results in my non scientific testing. It's more like a 1.5-1.6kW converter that maybe has a peak output of 2kW. The peak sensor is VERY sensitive as anything kicking on with a surge causes the system to fault out. If I had it to do over again, I'm not sure I would have payed the extra money for it.

Any chance it's cheap wiring? Legit wiring is the main reason I got the 2k PP.
