The only "good" about the shifter is it gives me a hand rest. I thought I had to have a console shifter to be happy. The Ram showed me otherwise. Much better use of the space with the Ram. Within a week or two I was used to the dial and now I found myself turning the 4 wheel drive dial. Ford can get rid of the trailer knob which is the biggest waste that I will never use and put the shifter dial there.

Went to B&P to check but it appears to be down at the moment but pretty sure I do not have it. Was just saying if given a choice on the 502A that I'd rather have the column shifter. Heck I'd just rather have the column shifter no matter the trim. I'm old and prefer certain things certain ways. I've always had a column shifter and it's what I'm used to. Time for me to get with the times

Coming from a Ram with a dial shifter I couldn’t go to a console shifter. I prefer the look of the trucks with the sport package and would have liked a lariat but ended up adjusting my entire build around having a column shifter and centre console. I will have to get used to chrome and cloth seats. But no rust (cough cough Ram 1500)

I would not own a RAM because of the knob shifter, I have them. column shifter ok but prefer the console. like the hand rest, like seeing what gear its in based on position, don't need any additional console pockets to put garbage in... No if they would get rid of all the safety feature that the know shifter caused like (Auto Park if you open a door without seat belt on, Auto Park if you leave the truck in gear and shut it off. The inability to leave the truck in Neutral without additional steps. Special Manual process to keep the truck in neutral for over 30 minutes, etc.)

I love the console shifter, I need a place to rest my hand while driving. I always get it and I think I would miss it. There is already enough storage. The best part is they put the lights back in the PRND best move ever.........and it is nice to have a button for manual shift...

The knob is the worst option on a pickup truck IMHO.
