I've always wondered if we could proactively "deep sleep" it as well. Seems like a smart idea if you go backpacking or know you're gonna be gone from home for 3 week trip, etc.
Looks nice. Basically the same truck, mines in Antimatter blue.
So that bumper bolted on and didn't affect the sensor's, etc, etc.? I hear that's a big pain, if not making some designs unworkable... if you care about that functionality anyway....
I agree, these things are over engineered and cheaply made. Almost feels like ford sub'd it out to Nintendo. I kringe every time I use it normally, would never want to increase cycles for no reason.
Not being a car dealership I can't fathom how it would benefit them to do something wonky on a car with 5mi on it. If it's an innocent mistake, they should (if they have any sense) offer to pony up a 1 yr ESP and agree to cover any deductible's or costs for the first 6 months of it.
True! That's a big price to pay. I was only thinking I'd rather find out before being in the boondocks.
Plus, isn't that under our drive chain warranty?
I 100% get your dilemma, but no one here can answer. Kid sounds pretty solid, but I think if I was a smart 22yrs, I would be the one who had misgivings about using your truck. If he doesn't, that may speak volumes.
Also, this ain't running down to the local Home Depot, we're talking 700+ miles...
Ditto what Fozzie438 said, mines about 25k mi and when I'm going down the hill to a stop, it makes a clunking sound and feel, albeit its near the end of my stop, so its a slow 5-10 mph when it happens.
It also does not happen every single time, I wouldn't even say it's often, it's been doing it...
Surprised to read this. I have '21 Lariat, 2 weeks out from end of 3yr/36,000. I thought was supposed to have the 800 cca battery but it had the 760 cca battery instead. It was starting to have the issues we've all read about for months.
Thought I was golden to go in and ask them to replace...
While you're holding your breath for Ford corporate to send you to your local dealer, Imnuts brought up some good questions. Did you happen to notice how full it was and how many gallons it took before shut off?
If I was a betting man I'd bet it said something about "reverse brake assist unavailable". Used to get it & midnight alarms going off quite often before I figured out to slam rear doors better. Fwiw
I have also never had any issues, but I always pay attention to posts about it because I'm holding my breath. Also in the don't use it a lot, but super happy to have it club. I think the folks who off-road a lot, have issues more often. Fwiw
This is "a thing"? I have not heard about this. I have the 21 Lariat screw 3.5 L, FX4 w/3.55. Can you say, do I need to be concerned about this now? TIA
