Okay, every vehicle that I have recently owned has had a bizarre little space on the center console. What is this slot supposed to be for ?

I watch one F150 review video & they called it a coin holder - but there is one in the tray - located inside the center console.

Initial reviews I watched said it was for a phone. It looks like it would fit one laying sideways in there?

A phone will fit but there is a phone holder in the little compartment in front of that. Maybe a tablet will fit. But I don't own one so not sure.

I put my phone in there sideways, or put whatever you want in there. pens, pencils, coins, small snakes, spaghetti noodles etc.

I keep a pen and several flossing picks there (it helps remind me to floss on long drives!). I think it's for phone or pens though.

I tote an I-Pad mini with me wherever I go.
my music is on that, and it has cell service,
Much easier to look things up on that over the phone.

Looks like that may just fit in there.

Now it is either on the seat, or on the floor by shifter.
Be nice to have a "place" for it.

receipts.....napkins...parking tickets

My phone has a tpu skin/card holder back so its a really snug fit.
I prefer to have my phone mounted facing me so I bought this:

Suction cup mount.

I actually replaced the clip stand with a circular magnetic mount from WizGear.

Since there are not smooth horizontal flat planes on the dash, and I have a column shifter, I ended mounting it inside the wall of the forward console bin. The suction is really strong and its the perfect height. It is also out of sight from outside view.

Sounds like a great setup. Any chance you could share a picture?

Supposed to be a nifty little nook for your phone.

Do you have any issues with the arm not holding the phone up? Like falling down? If that makes sense lol
