Really not seeing the whole point of this. If you want an EV buy one, why would you want an EV you have to put Gas into it. This is like the pictures you see of EV charging station powered by gas or Diesel generators, what is it really accomplishing , just making the whole thing more complicated.

Let's see if they put a switch into it to tap one of the traction inverters for split phase AC to drive off-board power (USG/DOD might like such a thing as it could output just about any power/frequency desired - really all sizes of govt could use it for disaster relief, etc...). It should be able to output max power sustained too. Backup a small block of homes w/ 130kW worth of power! They missed the mark not making it diesel though. Stores longer and would have more applicable power in a smaller package.

545 miles of range added with the 27 gallon tank. That means this running on gas gets 20 mpg highway. Doesn't sound efficient to me.

It would obviously be super efficient as a daily or for short trips. Long trips still better than a PB if it it’s best case lollipops world for the RC.
* I’m combining battery and gas for combined 25.55mpg.
