I love my 2022 Lariat and with everything going on the past year feel lucky to have Bluecruise, heated wheel, and even park assist that I'll likely never use. The interior is a huge upgrade and was the main reason I gave up my 2020. It didn't hurt that after 2 years of use I was able to sell it for nearly what I paid new.

But looking at 2020's owned by others at work and old pics of my 2020 I think that objectively the previous generation was a more handsome truck. Part of it is the boring Lariat Sport grille Ford uses I suppose...or maybe I'm a chrome guy and don't know it.

Never a chrome guy here, probably influenced by my UK upbringing, and Europe had dumped chrome by 1980. Love my 14th gen Tremor, even more than my 21 Lariat FX4 Sport (except gas mileage ). No, I believe this is best looking F150 ever.

14 over the 13 for me (13 looked like it had nostrils). I wish they bring back the 1st gen of the f150(78,79 being the best imo). I do have another question if the f150 was introduced in 75 how is it gen 14?
F series goes back further, originally the F-1 thru F-8 (bigger numbers essentially the Super Duty type vehicles), then F-100 thru F-350 (F-100 was the basic half ton thatbtoday would be an F150). It took untiln1975 to settle on the F150 model name.

Gen 1 48 to 5
Gen 2 53 to 56
Gen 3 57 to 60
blah, blah, blah
Gen 12 2009 to 14
Gen 13 15 to 20
Gen 14 21+

To an earlier question, a new Gen generally means all new sheet metal, all new interior and maybe significant chassis changes...but not always.

A refresh is typically just lights, grilles, maybe interior tweaks or color/material changes and maybe an exterior panel or two.

I might be biased since this is my first F150/truck but gen14 looks the best

Here you go. Aeroskin, matte black-not sure the part number or where I ordered.

I'll admit I rolled my eyes when you said you added a bug shield...but that actually looks really good.

That's a great body style as well. I'd probably take mine as an F250 Crew Cab short box.

It's been on for about 6 months and I still like it. Makes the front end look taller. It lays flat against the hood and the adhesive is holding real well.

I was just having fun with my rhetorical question.

i agree most trim levels dont have enough chrome, this is my 21 rcsb xlt and it has chrome grille and bumpers from the factory but the mirror caps and door handles are from amazon

I'm digging the chrome rollbars. That's a throwback in time.

I think gen 12 looked the best, followed by gen 14. To me gen 13 always looked like chick trucks, headlights were too small. The gen 14 brought back the tough look of the 08-16 Super Duty with the bold headlights and uses the 09-14 taillights. Major improvement over the 15-20 imo. 15-17 was the ugliest I think, that grille was awful.

I may be in the minority, but I prefer the shape of the Gen13 tail lights over the Gen14's.

I like the 14th gen more. A lot comes from no ugly mismatched standard wheel flares and a better offset look. My panels are less wavy and I have fancy lights (xlt to xlt). The fancy lights on the previous gen looked very cheap and aftermarket because you could see each individual LED.
