I had to laugh at the guys who drive half tons and were scared of loading a safe. Time to trade in for an Accord boys. Well done. Why am I such a hater? :ROFLMAO:
Easier to just start with the Coyote for the direct injection. The aftermarket is just a lot better for the 5.0. Ford also sells the Aluminator 5.0 for $15,000 which comes with Manley H-beam rods, forged Mahle pistons. This one will hold near 1,500 HP and it’s half the cost of the 5.2. Obviously...
What do we think? I think we are either looking at a hybrid 5.0 V8 with 650+ HP or a new generation Voodoo with an improved crank (S650 GT350). I’d like to see it be another naturally aspirated monster rather than blown, I think they should save the blown GT-500 for 2025-2026 when the Zora comes...
I was just messing around on the OEM polished valve covers lol, I don’t believe anyone makes polished ones for the latest 5.0 due to the direct injection pump and associated fuel rails complicating things. It’s normal though. When I did the timing job on my old 5.4 the service manual tells you...
Timing cover sealant, it gets placed at top and bottom corners where it meets oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets. I also have Ford working on installing polished aluminum valve covers for the 5.0 soon. They agreed “V8 owners deserve a little more classy look that EcoBoosters” cheers
They could at least say “hybrid” or something on the air cleaner cover like how the 5.0L says “V8” on it. They’d achieve the same weight savings! I guess you all ready have a badge on the door for PB, Ford must figure that’s all they are willing to spend on badging lol. I noticed Ford also...
Sounds like it may be a sticky caliper to me. Do you have a jack? I’d press on the brakes then lift each tire and see if you can free hand spin them after you release the brakes.
Or easy: tell the dealer to find it lol
The 0-60 runs I’ve seen in the Wagoneer are disappointing at best. I believe Ram (as they typically do) are inflating the factory power numbers. Any typical 5.0, 6.2, or EcoBoost would stomp any of these 3.0s I’ve seen do runs in a straight line (granted not fair to the 3.0 as the Wagoneer is...
I have to laugh, the EPA is sort of making us consume more fuel with the current regs, not less. Notice the Tacoma and 4Runner are bloated larger and heavier yet again to ease the standards the model has to make compliance with, much like the Ranger. Everything is heavy, bloated, and complex.
The 5.0 uses a ceramic hybrid with its PTWA cylinder liners. It’s been quite successful beyond the initial teething issues figuring out the correct ring to control the oil that better sticks to the cylinder bore. The cylinder liners are Nanocrystalline Iron with FeO (ceramic) hybrid. The...
Very low speed/rpm. You aren’t hitting potholes at 65 MPH either. When I am off roading in 4L, forces on hubs are much lower even through big dips and bumps vs when you hit a pothole on the highway at 75 MPH and it sends a large shock through the hub.
Once solid state batteries are able to be produced in mass we are there. Current batteries pretty much suck, using a liquid electrolyte is 100 year old tech. Right now it’s 100 year old battery technology vs 100 year old ICE technology. Once this battery tech that is all ready cracked come out...
Ford has a bad habit of doing that. The 5.8 Trinity rods were crap in the older GT-500’s. Due to the shitty rods Ford had an 8-second “over-rev” feature that would keep you from revving over 6,000 rpm too long because the rods had “durability concerns”. Yes, they used to do that for the GT-500...
