Negotiate Price on custom order truck?

So, been waiting for my 150 PB 4x SCREW Plat with BAP to get shipped. Been stuck at "built for almost 4wks, and not further update. In the meantime, I have been receiving emails from other dealerships offer significant discounts on the F150 inventories, up to $9k off MSRP on some of their Platinums. I am determined to get a Rapid Red, and have yet to find that color with my desired specs, but clearly the dealerships are getting anxious about their growing inventories.

Never ordered custom before, and in the past I usually negotiate new car buys starting from invoice and working up. Should I be working a discount into this purchase, even though I custom order. Of course this assumes the truck actually arrives at the dealership!

Invoice and go from there.

Many dealers will do invoice, Granger in Iowa and some others will go below it no negotiating involved. A custom order is a mostly guaranteed sell for a dealer so find one that will work with you. If you already ordered you will be stuck with whatever is on your written paperwork and whatever rebates when it's ready to pick up or at time of original order. They usually give you choice of both is my understanding.

I found a used rapid red that had what I was looking for so I understand. It's purdy.

Holy crap where are you finding platinums at $9k off? I got mine ablut $5k off with xplan, their advertised price was about $4k off

I ended up getting $8,000 off MSRP, plus the $1000 financing incentive. All dealers CAN deal. Jus most of them aren't wanting to right now. The price came pretty close to what I could get from Granger, and it saved me a 2 day drive, so I went local...

Apple Ford in Maryland. Quite an inventory of high end F150s. They have more Ecoboosts than PB. Several Raptors as well.
