1st post here on the forum. We all have various reasons to be here all with one commonality- we all have Ford F-150s. Within this there are several sub-groups. I'd like to ask all the hunters out there to share their successes with beds full of meat & horns or fur & feathers! How'd you all do this year?

Nice work! Nothing like getting out and putting food on the table as a bonus. Who else has a story & pics to share?

Dove hunting in TX was good to me this year. 1st time limiting out ever and did that on multiple trips.

Looks like you fared well...

I have to ask- how do you prepare and eat dove? I hunt for Ptarmigan and grouse here in Alaska, but never had Dove. How do you cook them?

@AK Yeti one of my favorite ways is to take one breast and a jalapeno chunk and bacon wrap before grilling it or do a jalapeno popper style with half the pepper stuffed with cream cheese then dove and bacon wrap. I've also done a quick pan seer with olive oil and S&P for quick snack if I didn't harvest enough to go through the whole grilling process.

I must say that sounds delicious. I make a lot of what I call “chicken” fries. I cut the breast in 1/2 (to make it thinner) then cut into 1/4” strips. You can also dice them into small chunks. These are then breaded and fried in bacon grease. Served best on a flour tortilla with fresh pico de gallo, crema, and cilantro.

Thanks for sharing…

Where in Alaska? I lived there a few year ago and now live in Idaho, and my freezer is filled with fish nowadays. Miss the Kings.

Man, I want to move to Idaho. Texas is just so damn hot plus I need to live in a smaller city.
