what's the best way to setup tent inside our F150? in the bed or on top of the roof? mine has panoramic roof so i would think bed is a better idea. do i have to install racks to mount in-bed tents? i'm a truck and camping newbie, so bare with me LOL. thanks in advance.

Cheapest route is in the bed. More expensive would be a short rack system so you could still use your bed. Google images is your friend.

Everything can be removeable, it just a matter of how much effort and time to you want to spend doing it each time.

I can change from my daily driver setup of a soft roll up tonneau cover to this in about 20 mins. No drilling required. Tent in it’s stored position is roof height so no real extra aerodynamic drag.

Yes, bed bars can be removed in a couple minutes. Not compatible with a tonneau.

The only way to have a rack compatible with a cover would be to go with something like this Elevate system or the Yakima Overhaul, but you'd have to prob get a new cover:

so i have to remove the tonneau first then install the bed bar, and then go reverse order for daily driving? basically i can not install any bed bar on tonneau cover?

There are tonneau covers that are compatible with bed bars...youll have to google. Or you could just mount and dismount for trips like I do. Like i said only takes me about 20-30 mins

my tonneau cover is Bak Bakflip. seems like pretty bed rack friendly per google. anyways, slightly off topic, what's the advantages and disadvantages between overlanding with popup tents VS getting tow trailer for family of 4? my first guess would overlanding allows you to offroading, anything else?
