I took a 150 mile highway trip recently with 4 adult passengers and no trailer. I got about 23 MPG. I have to assume the mileage I recorded earlier included my having towed my trailer from Mississippi, which I did not recall having included that.

No guessing needed. He has the HDPP which is the only package that comes with the LT tires confirmed by the door sticker. FX4 adds the skid plates and hill descent button. Those don't change the MPG. I'm running 34" LT (E) tires and didn't take a hit on mileage despite having heavier tires and a larger diameter.
What tires and size did you get

Consistently average about 16.5 MPG in my '21 Powerboost. I have a heavy foot though.

Wrong thread bro.
This is a quote from the OPs first post: “I get only 12 MPG in mixed use. I expected some decrease relative to the older truck, due to the new one being a bit heavier and having 4WD, but not 30+%. Can I not expect better?”
My response answers the question he posed with a resounding “Yes”.

Am I missing something? If so then I haven’t hijacked in awhile and my subconscious was due. 😉

With that great a decrease in mpg I would suspect something like a blown head gasket or brakes grabbing. A blown head gasket is something that is not going to show up on a shop scope and it is better to go where the mechanics are not 100% dependent on the machine for diagnostics. It takes very little coolant to cause incomplete ignition as the fuel enters the cylinder and this can go unnoticed. The person who sold you the truck was probably aware of the problem and so dumped it.

I had a truck that would not have full power first thing in the morning and I went to 5 different shops to try to diagnose the problem. Spent $1500 on having parts replaced but the mechanics were just guessing. After I put another 30K miles on the truck the gasket deteriorated to the point where there was a noticeable loss of coolant from the engine.

Mine is as heavy as it could be: Crew Cab, 4x4, PowerBoost hybrid, max tow, sunroof, power everything (Platinum), bed liner and folding cover.

Highway, depending upon speed:
80mph: 20mpg
70mph: 22mpg
60mph: 24mpg

Around town, if I'm careful, I'll get 28mpg.

Now towing or spirited driving: abysmal. Like they say about EcoBoost: you can have Eco, OR, you can have Boost. Get into the boost and Eco is history. When planning my towing routes / stops, I estimate 8mpg with my ~6K LB travel trailer at 65mph.

RELATED:
I'm still on the stock Hankook 275/60/20 AT2s.

Thinking of going with something slightly taller and/or wider that will still fit on a bone-stock truck. All the AT tires I'm seeing, weigh from mid 50s thru high 60s.

What is THAT gonna do to my mileage?
My 22 Limited Powerboost my MOG has dropped significantly in town.. down to about 18 … now it only goes into electric mode when braking or sitting still. I used to be able to drive almost all the way to work in electric mode … not sure what has happened but it’s not great.

This thread is specific to the 3.5L ecoboost without the hybrid electric motor.
Copy that. Good thing I’m the only PB owner to chime in. 😅

My 21 XLT 3.5 EB has averaged 20.4 mpg (Cdn) since I brought it home 1 month short of 3 years ago. This works out to 17 mpg US. I have as high as 28 MPG doing a steady 100 KPH or 62 MPH.

EDIT: Summer tires are General Grabber LT/265/70R 18's and winter tires are Goodyear Duratracks LT/275/75/18's
