Which is basically ridiculous. You're telling me that they don't have a fleet of trucks that they use for testing this stuff? If they don't, no wonder their software quality sucks a$$.
Porsche did the same thing recently because vehicles were blowing out speakers. Instead of fixing the core issue and installing quality speakers, they issued a software update that reduced power output.
Cut out a piece of insulation foam in the shape of the IPC, glue a handle or put a string on it, and put it on and off whenever needed. That's what I do when running my truck in generator mode at a campground or when off the grid.
