I’m just trying to make sure this is the 9.75. I bought 4.56 gears for my previous truck but never installed them. I got the reverse 8.8 fronts as well.

I have no input to help but I’m following! What setup are you running that warrants 4.56s?

That's a Super 8.8" differential, not to be confused with the previously used 8.8" differential.

Darn it. Is the front still a reverse 8.8 you think? Now I have to buy just the rear correct?

The front axle is still a reverse 8.8" so everything you bought for the front should work.

Did I get this type of rear because my truck has 3.31 gears?

That is an 8.8 but that has nothing to do with those bolts. :) that is just a happy coincidence. Also the 8.8 is an awesome axle and has 34 splines in our truck. The 8.8 is an ISO 898-1 strength rating for the bolt, nothing to do with the 8.8 ring gear in Ford axles.

I have the e locker and if you dont you can add one while doing gears. I setup my own gears from my old Jeep Days. I have the 3.31 gears but the 10 speed is so good I really dont need the 3.73 for towing. It only adds about 1000 lbs of extra towing on my truck.

The 9.75 has an assymetric shape looking at it from the same angle this photo was taken.

I’m building a Sport/Street truck so I’m using the gears for off the line fun. But thanks for clarifying even more. Now I have to order the rears again. My truck does come with the e locker.

My truck has a 7050 GVWR package. What is that?

Look at your door sticker, probably the same as mine.

Gross Vehicle Weight meaning you have 7050 max weight. So below that on the tire sticker should say something like 1994 lbs capacity on the chassis, that is how much people and cargo you can cary on the truck itself.

The Gross Combined Weight Rating is 14800 for our trucks. So Subtract our truck weight about 5050 lbs dry weight. You get about 9300 towing capacity. Minus your passengers and cargo you get about 9000lbs capacity towing. If you change the gears to 3.73 or greater it becomes 10000 lbs capacity for towing.

GCWR 14800 lbs for 4x4 supercrew 5.0
CVWR is 7050 lbs
Max towing for equipped trucks is 9300 or 9400 lbs
Curb weight for 4x4 SUper Crew is 5050 lbs

Thank you sir. I need to learn this.

p.s. I just ordered the 8.8 rear gears.
