Had my Powerboost, 3.73 gears, for a year now. Screen shows 22.1 mpg and calculated show 20.9 mpg. I see about 20-21 mpg on I-80 where speed limits are 80 mph. On state roads (55-65-70) I see around 26-27 mpg. Note: if there's a headwind I've seen it drop to 14 mpg on the screen. You know there's a headwind when you're on a level stretch and the turbos kick in...

Thats impressive you're still seeing that high doing 80+. What are the temps like? On my past couple of ecoboosts I've noticed at 85+ temps I seem to gain a couple MPG on the same trips. Not sure if it's wind resistance or what it is.

Yea, I've spent the last few days making some runs across I-10 between Houston and San Antonio. So lots more time at 80mph Bluecruise than my normal driving.

Depending on which direction I'm going, I seem to get 20-21mpg indicated. But I'm NOT complaining since I'm stunned that this brick at 80 can break 20mpg. I still remember my Ford Van with a 460ci getting 10mpg at 55mph on I-10 🤣

We live in amazing times and it's getting harder and harder to be impressed.

Temps seem to make little difference. Out here in Wyoming the temps are more moderate most of the year than elswhere... The big swinger remains a headwind. Why is it that its almost always a headwind and almost never a tailwind?

I just made a 150 mile trip averaging about 65 on the expressway. This new truck got 27.8mpg on the dash. It should be at least a realistic 25+ new. That is much better than I expected at this point. Once it gets broken in, it will get better. I am excited to see it doing this well this fast & feel very fortunate, given the difficulties that I have hears about others experiencing.

376-mile round trip. 316 miles were interstate with blue cruise. calculated mpg of 27.4 and was happy with that.

So when I drive 55 crossing (on interstate through the city) I get calculated 29-30mpg based on headwind. When I drive 70 cross the interstates I get 22 unless there is a stiff headwind. At 80 I get 19-20. I have no idea if the fact that I am in normal mode instead of eco will make a difference.

When I am driving off the interstate I get 18mpg and I drive like a grandma. I am not sure if this will get better once I get the vehicle broken in. Of note I selected boost as one of my gauges on my HUD and I very rarely see it even go into boost. Braking scores are usually 95 to 100%. I thought hybrids were supposed to do better in stop and go driving. That is why the 23/23 is on the window sticker. Thoughts?

The idea is in the city you are stopping more often and thus generating more electricity. In addition, the electricity is assisting off the line to keep the turbo out and thus saving gas where its used the most. 30 mpg or better is my observation when going short trips in town.
On the highway if you watch the power distribution and the rpms, you will see the electric is kicking in and out on hills etc. Keep the speed down to 65 or so and that seems to be the sweet spot. Cruise control or BC adds as well.

I did about 4 hours of highway driving through hilly terrain today in Eco. I was surprised to see that when going up an extended moderate grade that by forcing the downshift to avoid boost I would get significantly better fuel economy.

If the boost indicator was at about 25%, and I dropped enough gears (using lockout), I would see about a 5L/100km improvement in fuel economy.

I would really expect the vehicle logic to do this on its own considering the difference.

I'm back from towing a camper on a short little trip.

3600lbs Wolf Pup 16PFBL, 2 e-bikes 2 45 lbs dogs, and myself.

12.0MPG w/ about 40 minutes of idle while I set everything up for the first time:

12.4 MPG if you take out the idle time (reset this meter right as I left my driveway):

Trip highest speed was 70 MPH, average was 31 MPG according to travel GPS. There was a lot of rush hour bumper to bumper traffic leaving the twin cities. Level ground travel I was getting 14-15 mpg at 65mph while towing. That's pretty frickin' good. My old tow vehicle for this same camper would get 10.5mpg at 65 mph (2019 Grand Cherokee).

Here's the return back, no camper, no bikes and only one dog:

24.3MPG, averaged 71mph according to travel GPS. This was right before I turned off the highway. I forgot to snap a photo when I parked in my garage, but my mpg increased to 24.7mpg as I mostly drove under 40 mph in neighborhoods to get home, all electric.

Pretty happy, to say the least!

Just under payload with a fully loaded white tank and my wife sitting in the back of the cab with the dogs. I'll have to tweak my WDH a bit.

Just drove 80 freeway miles at posted speed limits (70 and 75) and got 24.8 mpg according to truck computer.

Last week I pulled a 4400 lb enclosed trailer 700 miles and achieved 10 mpg. I was not expecting a miracle as that is what I got pulling the trailer in my 2015 Canyon.

Today I got my best trip. It wasn't long (<10 miles), but I found something interesting, which I sort of knew. On the way back from the doc, I had almost zero red lights. Once the battery was charged back up and I was just running at speed, the truck was easily doing 30mpg. I had no need to have it swap to electric and it didn't until I had to slow down. Then when I did hit a light, I got back up to speed pretty fast (as per @UGADawg96 mentioned a few back). I then spent maybe a minute around the 25mpg mark until the battery was charged an it was back to about 30mpg (on the live meter). Now this was not interstate, but was highway and I was going between 45 and 55mph which I've found the sweet spot for mileage, but I'm confident if I was on a longer stretch of road and didn't have a lot of lights I could easily see 30mpg+ for the trip.

Prior to today I could easily get 23-25mpg on any given trip (if it was a really short trip and I could use just electric, I of course could get really good, but we know the next trip suffers), but I think there is a lot lost if you are swapping back and forth a lot, especially on long stretched. There has to be some efficiency loss when charging.

My take away is that I'm not gonna try and force electric when at speed or really at all. I will try and stay in electric if I'm at lower speeds (like driving to my house from the main road), but that's because these trucks get really bad mileage at lower speeds (I normally get like 12-5mpg at 25mph). Instead I'm gonna try and stay out of electric unless I'm coasting for a light or stopped (or if the truck just decides to go into electric for some reason).

Anywho. This isn't normal for my. My trips are normally really short (like 1-2 miles if that), so my life time is rather low (<20), but this gives me hope that if I were driving it for a daily commute I could easily see 23-25+, even more on country back roads or stretches without many lights.
