Did a round-trip to OH and back this week, about 1000 miles round-trip. Did 25 flat (measured) on way up and 24.8 on way back down. Lots of big hills in KY/VA/NC through Blue Ridge and Appalachians. Biggest thing I did was lock out 10/9 on the way uphill in order to prevent boost from kicking in, and I think 1500 rpm up a hill in 10th can't be good even if it thinks it can. Seems happier at 2200rpm and no boost. Lots of coasting/EV drive on way back down the hill.

Also mostly going about 60 mph, not in a hurry and lotta rain. Pretty amazing efficiency for a 6000 pound lump of steel and aluminum.

Took a trip from Vegas to Barstow Ca and back. 368 mile on Blue Cruise. 24.3 one way, 25.1 back. Mostly 73 mph. Less than 2000 mi on it.
I’m impressed!

Don't recall if this was posted in the last two weeks.

"Our average fuel economy over 10,000 miles, six months and 30 fill-ups is a disappointing 19.3 miles per gallon"
Read that, was surprised to see that conclusion, they even mentioned they did not factor in performance testing or towing miles.

Did help me feel good about my decision to go with the 3.5 Eco over the Powerboost :)

There are a couple things I’ve found in driving the hybrid over the past year. First and foremost I find that not babying it, produces better mileage. Get up to speed as you drove before and thats where the electric shines, off the line. That’s where they wanted to keep the turbo from kicking in and that saves gas.
Short trips, 2-15 uses more electric and thus requires less gas, I always see my highest in that use.
And finally, there appears to be some software tweaks downloaded from time to time.as my mileage took a jump from the 19-20 to the 23-25 range overnight.

That’s on the 2021, the 2022 was high right off the lot and has the max towing.
In the winter the best I see is 19.x.
Premium grade gas works best but there’s a $ trade off and with gas running north of $6 I’m not inclined to run it.

This is what we got on our trip home from picking my PB up in Bullhead City, AZ. Drove north to Vegas (spent the night) and Beatty, west over the hills into Death Valley, west over the hills out of Death Valley, north to Mammoth/Bodie/Reno, and them west through Susanville to home. Added the unnecessary details to show the kind of driving. Also, the speed limit was 10-15 low for my liking.
I was pretty impressed.

What? Man been following you on the build week thread. After such a long wait to have transmission issues sucks.

Did about 400 miles this weekend from LA to Ensenada Mexico, 60s and 70s on I-5, slower in Mexico and some dirt roads etc (slower speed was tending to be electric). Average was between 24-25mpg.

Couple of key questions relative to this.
1. How much of this was short trips? Anything under 2 miles kills the mileage, especially if the engine isn't warm.
2. How much was in cold temps? As discussed here and in other threads, mileage is worse in the cold.

If the answer to both of those was "A Lot", them getting 19.3 isn't at all surprising. That's pretty close to my experience. Maybe even high 18s.
Now that it's warmer, I can easily get 25-30mpg on a 10-20 mile trip on roads with moderately rolling hills and a typical speed between 30 and 50 mph. That seems to be the sweet spot for this truck/engine. Go outside of that, either in short trips or faster, you're probably not going to see them advertised 24. But you'll probably still see better mpg than most other options (short of diesel on the freeway).

I live in the south but my truck sees a fall off at 75+ mph on the interstate. The sweet spot seems to be 73-74 but it's hard to drive that slow on long trips.

I was getting 30-33MPG at 65, over a period of 30 minutes. But I agree, hard to drive that slow.

I’ve had mine just 2 days. I am getting 25mpg+ on the 1st tank 300 miles in, driving the same as I always have. About 25% electric miles. Still shows 500 miles to empty. I have high hopes that it will get better when it gets broke in a little. Driving like a dream. I can barely tell when it changes gears or goes ICE to electric or back. I am feeling pretty lucky given the woes that I have heard that others have endured.

Less than a week here, main screen was showing 21Mpgon the center screen, switched to trip #1 after 1'st fill up (15 gal) and watched it go up after a 20 mile loop at speed and was at 24.3 MPG, impressive for a truck of this size.
22 Limited, just me driving normaly.
