I am curious what gears your trucks shifts from and to. A 1500 rpm jump sounds like at least two gears. Glad to hear you are getting a new tranny.

That sucks. But, since you paid for this out of warranty I believe it has a two year parts and labor warranty. But please check this yourself.

Picked the truck up this afternoon. Shinny new heat exchanger and associated exhaust piping. The new part number listed on service ticket is PL3Z-5A212-B. The attached screen shot shows this part, but oddly it is missing the heat exchanger. Also replaced was the muffler and muffler inlet pipe.

  12. Exhaust Heat Exchanger

Thanks snakebitten. I understand parts can break and wear, but this is my fourth time dealing with a heat exchanger-related issue, and I am still under warranty. What is going to happen over the next 5 years? I would think this part would be upgraded to solve this. Becoming disheartened.
  13. Exhaust Heat Exchanger

p2c23 is back again, about one year after the last heat exchanger replacement for the same code. Surely Ford has a permanent fix? I am almost out of warranty and this is getting old. Would this code be an emissions related problem?
  14. Did any of you consider a GMC/Chevy with the 3.0 Duramax?

I almost did. But based on my driving habits, short trips to work and back, and living in a cold climate, I was worried about all the emission crap going bad. I simply would never get the truck up to temp on my normal commute, about 6 miles.
  15. Can you turn off the IPC or dim it?

Why not simply turn off the headlights while you sit idling?
  16. Wet Belts......Nobody Could've Predicted This

Hopefully you all will post on GM forums with the same enthusiasm concerning the wet belt in the 3.0 duramax.
