Decided to tone down the silver platinum tailgate. I used Vvivid Ultra Gloss black wrap.

Yeah, I’ve never been all in for the total blackout look. I like some chrome. At some point I might switch the tailgate wrap to a lighter gray brushed metal look.

I’d be open to selling my wheel template. I have a pdf of it. Not sure what anyone would be willing to pay.

I have very little experience with wrap so take my advice for what it's worth!

Start in the center and work your way out towards the top and bottom. If you're getting air trapped in the two long creases use a pin to make air escape holes, heat the film and press it in again. Don't expect to be able to wrap around the "F-150 letters. I had to cut around the entire badge.
If you're going to cut out the "PLATINUM", don't heat the letters and try to press the vinyl in, cut them out first, then heat and press the vinyl.

Non-glossy will not show mistakes as much as glossy. I'd love to see someone do a dark gray brushed metal like they have at rvinyl.com.

I love this look. I'm planning on doing this to my Limited. Question, though, about care.. Can you take it through car washes that use brushes? Are there other "don't do's or watch out for's"?

I’ve been hand washing so far. Not sure how it would hold up through the car wash. Almost everything I know about wrap I learned from YouTube ?

Wondering if anyone has tried to paint the tailgate body color, the wrap is a no brainer for white and black but my smoked quartz limited I don't think I would get a proper match with wrap.
