[My 2ND Ford]

It's nice to see others getting their OTA's . My last one was on June 18th and it was 2.7.4. I have been keeping the battery charged as I haven't been using the truck much. Keeping my fingers crossed as well.

so you can see your bed while driving with 2.8.3? If not I sure hope this happens eventually as I want to stare at my gas cans and other junk when hauling stuff to make sure they don’t fall over.

Well I woke up this morning to find out I now have 2.8.2! The app didn’t notify me it was even coming. Unfortunately I haven’t been on a blue cruise road yet but hope to test by end of day. Does anyone else find it odd that Ford doesn’t even mention the Bluecruise update in the notes and calls it a small update? Lol I’ve been waiting on this “small update” for over a year!

my truck recently updated to 2.8.1. Still no blue cruise though. Some message popped up on my dash stating something about bluecruise but it still wasn't handsfree. kept telling me do watch the road

I had the exact same issue and then 5 days later (today) I received 2.8.2 without any notice. I believe I have Bluecruise now but haven’t been able to try it out yet. I’m going to try to take a lunch soon and go test it out.

It works! I only had time to test it out for 15 minutes but so far so good. I did notice the system gets a bit confused when cars are entering on an on-ramp and I felt like I should take over just to be safe. But no complaints so far.

Does anyone know where to get a detailed map of the Bluecruise roads or if it’s somewhere in the Ford navigation? I’ve seen multiple maps online but they are all horrible quality.

I’ve been trying to get 2.8.1 to install but have 4-5 failed attempts. I tried putting the trickle charger on and closing the hood but still failed. After the latest failed attempt, the “Update Now” button in the system update screen is grayed out and I get a prompt saying no system updates requiring downtime are available. Has anyone experienced this? When I click “update details” in the updates menu is shows the latest update as 2.8.1 but FordPass app shows the update failed. I appreciate any help on this.

To successfully install 2.8.1. For me the trick was to allow the trickle charger to completely recharge the battery (13+ volts) then I kept the charger on during the download.

My truck just updated to 2.6.0 last week, dealer is no help, and Im still trying to get the rest to download. When you put the trickle charger on, did you just hook it up to the truck's lugs? I don't have room to hook up to the battery's terminals.

I did hook up to the lugs and to further complicate matters, the hood has to be shut prior to the OTA starting or it will fail. I plugged the trickle charger into an extension cord and placed the trickle charger alligator clips on the lugs but make sure they don’t fall off when you close the hood. I used a volt meter to ensure the battery was still connected. You can get creative if you have a volt meter and place the Positive on the battery and negative on anything metal under the hood you should get a voltage reading when the hood is closed. I noticed if the volts dropped below 12 the OTA failed just an FYI. It took me multiple attempts but that’s because I didn’t let the trickle charge do it’s thing first.

lesson learned: you’ll want to have the trickle charger plugged up for a couple hours prior to starting the update. This OTA takes a lot of juice!

Are you sure you have all the right settings turned on in order for BlueCruise to work?
