Sluggish handshake is worse in sport mode! I appreciate the post about Ford knowing about it and possibly a fix OTA update in in the works! For now, I stay in Slippery mode and stay electric full time LOL!
I want to clarify that this is just what they told me. I really don't know how much I trust their response and it seems like different techs/ dealers/ Ford Specialists have different answers. It could be accurate or just a way to kick the can down the road and let it be someone else's problem later (I have experienced this a few times with other issues with the truck).

For me this always seems to be more prevalent even after the TSB when merging and turning left into traffic.

:mad::mad::mad:

I just hit 10,000 miles today. Yesterday the truck exhibited the same thing where there is a lag or 'stall' when entering into traffic. Yesterday I was towing our lawnmower on its trailer (700#s), and the truck stalled entering into traffic for 2-3 seconds, enough time for my wife to say what are you doing! I explained to her that I had the go pedal all the way down!! I tried explaining this to the service writer on the last two visits... no help, I even asked to have the shift learning table shut off so that it wouldn't learn bad habits to economize the fuel over safety of acceleration. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFTEY ISSUE! I guess I have to wait to get t-boned before Ford will do anything, I can't be the only one running into this issue.

I'm not defending Ford, but if I experienced this and the dealership hadn't figured it out yet, then I wouldn't be caught dead in Normal or Eco mode until it is addressed.
Especially not towing or in a circumstance that requires quick acceleration.

That's gotta be a helpless feeling. I don't even like to imagine it.

Hi there. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you with this stall concern on my end.

Has anyone found a fix yet? Mine is currently at the dealership after four near-accidents with my kids in the truck from this exact issue. Ford knows it’s an issue but can’t seem to find a solution. I’m ready to trade it in but would much rather have a fix.

Hi, I am having the exact same issue and am currently paying for a rental car while my brand new truck sits getting “exploratory” service (essentially, they can’t find a thing nor recreate the problem. Is there any chance you could help me? I’ve been in several near-accident situations as a result.

Have you had any luck fixing it? I agree this is a real safety issue and want it fixed.

None. Ford dealership eventually wanted to take it and drive it for a week and figure out if they could repeat it. I got tired of waiting for a resolution and traded it in because at the time we only had the 1 vehicle and the dealership doesn't have any loaners. The dealership also told me that they cannot turn off the adaptive learning for the transmission, they can only reset the tables. All and all I wish I hadn't bought the first year of the hybrid. :confused:

When I reached out to that account they took my info and it went no where.

I also had the same dealer experience you did. o_O

Darn, that is the exact point I’m at; trading it in for a loss. I’m so sorry that was your experience but you definitely helped me make my decision and I’m really thankful for your reply.

Just 2 cents here, but is it true that the engine will operate at reduced power when coming out of EV to prevent engine damage if the truck thinks it needs to build oil pressure first?

I have had this same experience and it usually results in a nice little squeal for the rears.

Just posting a follow up to my previous posts regarding this. July has come and gone and no fix as previously advised by Ford. Still experiencing this issue plus new ones such as instrument cluster resetting, gps and navigation malfunctioning, 360 cameras sporadic, no current ota updates, reverse back up assistance sometimes offline, etc... and service appointments are 3.5 months out. Been having problems since early in ownership and feel like I will be out of warranty before they ever fix anything.
