How many miles on your 2.7 and what have you had to replace?

F150forum has a thread on this.
A few claim 400k+.

It helped to reinforce my decision to choose this motor.

The 2.7L is by far the most trouble free powertrain choice.
I haven't seen much on the 2018+ motors. TONS of people like the guy above with 306k that are thrilled with the 1st gen 2.7, which checks out because it's a known solid motor.

What is your concern with the current generation of the 2.7?

It has a wet belt, so does the 5.0 designed for much higher HP, so I don't consider that a downside.

I had concerns with the 3.5 having first generation for 12 years. Read that with all the changes to timing configuration and everything else they were still reporting issues with phasers wearing out too fast and timing rattle. I left my 3.5 on what would be the third timing chain and related parts just starting to rattle again with less than 150k on it. Can't find any posts on that with the 2.7 motor.

Not winning this contest 😋 34,000km on mine, coming up on two full years of ownership in January. Trouble-free ownership so far. Hoping to squeeze another 8 out of it and get it close to 200,000km (~20,000/year).

It's not about how much shiney distracting horsepower it can handle, it's about how long, in years or miles, it can last.

So no one has a gen 2 2.7 with 150k+? That f150forum with 400k+ was a gen 1.

Drove off the lot Feb of '21 with a little less than 18 mi. on the odometer. Just turned over 61K on my 2.7EcoBeast yesterday. Other than normal maintenance oil changes/tire rotation, only upgrades have been added. In previous F150s a '00 4.2L V6 (~80K at trade-in), '03 Triton 4.6L V8 (~70K at trade in), and 2 5.0L Coyotes ('11 with 120k and '18 with ~60K). This has been by far the best performing engine I've had the pleasure of owning.

Bought my 2023 about 3 months ago.

current mileage is at about 24,000km/16,000 miles.

she just had her 3rd oil change a few hundred km ago, I’ll only ever do full synthetic and shoot for 8,000km.

I’ve had every engine put in these trucks since 2011 and driven them all like this, there is a reason I only buy the 2.7L, about to buy another one.

Most people drive 10-15k per year.
5 years would be 75k.
Let's do some reality math. I'm 58 so 30 years left if I'm lucky and take care of myself. That's two more trucks not counting this one at 10 years and 150k miles before selling.

I can already feel the coffin closing with that talk...I think at the pace things are going I'm going to want more :)

This PowerBoost is incredible, and I can't wait to see what's just around the bend. C'mon phasors hang in there till Daddy saves up some more money!

My 2011 was getting the start up timing rattle again before I bought my new to me truck last year. That would have been the third time replacing phasers and other timing parts. Solid motor outside that but it annoyed me.

6.2 was the only motor worth its weight in the 11-14 trucks imo. The early 5.0’s had the oblong cylinder #8, and occasionally crisped the valves back there. 3.5 EB had the piston skirt cracking issue and timing chain failures. The 6.2 just sat pretty, lots of those guys now with 200-300k and not a peep out of the engine. It’s crazy to me the best engine (most powerful and most reliable) had the lowest take rate. People give fuel economy way too much thought imo, in the wrong vehicle if ur worried about being frugal. If the 6.2 was still an option I’d have 100% taken it.
