Have a 2020 Ford 150 and was backing up to my trailer in 4wl and then I heard a loud bang. Truck was on ice/snow packed ground. What are your thoughts.

Wish I'd read this 45 days ago....Reverse in 4L is the shortest gearing and thus the most torque that the 10R80 can make. It's basically a stress test on the whole drive train. I would go so far as to say that we should all probably put our trucks into 4L and reverse before the powertrain warranty expires in order to have at least a hope that we got one of the good front pumpkins.
Only if you want to visit the dealer and lose your truck for however long it takes for them to repair it...Wish I'd read this 45 days ago....
Although, I do have the extended ESP with like $50 or $100 deductible....Am I safe to give it a go?
To be fair, despite all of the reports I still think that this failure is pretty rare AND way too common at the same time, if that makes sense.Only if you want to visit the dealer and lose your truck for however long it takes for them to repair it...
No liftEvery case of this I've seen posted is putting truck into reverse with 4L or 4H. Something I do in winter snow to back up my uphill driveway when needed. I'm definitely curious about these threads.
Does the truck have a lift or level kit?
I do the exact same thing. My shop is on a hill and most times I end up reversing in 4H up the hill. It’s either that or a 3 point turn in snow/ice which just make a mess in my drivewayEvery case of this I've seen posted is putting truck into reverse with 4L or 4H.
