Hi folks. Just got a new Super Cab 2023 F-150 Area 51 Blue STX appearance package with the 5.0L V8 this week. Loving the 400 horsepower/410 lb ft of torque through the 10R80, this truck feels so light on its feet and chugs along with no effort. Used X-plan and Fords recent college graduate discount so I think I did ok on price. First ever new vehicle, have had two Expeditions in the past. Figured this forum looked like the place to join.

That color is growing on me. I wish it would have been an option in 22. Color matched bumpers should be an option on every model.

Your picture of the air cleaner is making me want to open my hood and see if it says v8. I've never noticed that before. But to be fair I checked the oil a couple of times when new. Now I consider the hood to be welded shut.

I second that! Beautiful color. If they offered it in 21', I would have had a tough decision between my stunning Space White and Area 51.

My thought exactly. I replaced the air filter a few months ago and I don't recall seeing the V8 on the cover. Now I want one because it doesn't say V8 anywhere and this engine deserves it!

What does everyone think of the locking rear axle? Work well?

It was ok the one time I used it during some snow in town driving. I just let it do it's thing. It helps to take off at lights and then disengages at a certain speed to keep it from going squirrely and reengages at the next light.
If I were to go four wheeling like I did in my youth it probably wouldn't be as effective for me. I'm one of those guys that uses momentum to get you through spots where you might get stuck. No crawling through stuff here! More of a hold my beer and watch this experience. Or at least it used to be.
