No real updates today, I just wanted to mention how freakin excited I am about the prospect of making my own Lariat High from a Lariat Mid. My "build" is certainly not as impressive as some on here *cough*Jesse*cough*, and certainly not as exciting as some of these other builds, but knowing that I have learned a whole new skill set (and made a great new friend in JHForman812) with all of the electrical and wiring, and have done all of my modifications to OEM standard, gives me a sense of pride.

Not related specifically to the 501 to 502 conversion, I am working with Tufskinz on making tailgate letter inserts and fender vent accent strips (similar to the Tremor fender badges) that will match the liquid copper on my grille center bar. I think after that I am going to get copper front tow hooks and possibly be done with that color.

I didn’t get any installed pics of the badges because I broke the damn cover for the front camera sprayer, and I just didn’t think about it after that. Luckily it’s a $5 part but I can’t get it till Wednesday

Thanks sir, a few people made major contributions to my truck, and you are certainly one of them. I'll definitely be reporting back after installing the powered steering column. I am just waiting on my wiring terminals from mouser to make up my harness, and some fasteners to replace a couple of one time use bolts.

I'll probably have a few more questions for you when the time comes, and I REALLY appreciate all of your past help.

I appreciate it. I try to help where and when I can. I enjoy the upgrading.. always have. Its funny when somehting like that is what led to me havinga job doing nothing but coming up with upgrades.

In the process of doing upgrades to learn the ones we decide are not really sellable I can help with. THe ones we sell I have to stay on the sidelines. It may upset people at times but the itme I have to invest in figuring this out is paid for by the compnay. I have to put their interests first. If I didnt then I wouldnt be ble to help the way I do with BlueCruise and other things.

I totally get it, you don’t wanna bite the hand that feeds, especially when they’re good to you, which it sounds like they are.

Got my wiring harness built for the powered steering column. I will only have to run about 3 feet of wire from the A-column to the actual steering column motors, so this is going to be a fairly easy install.

@Jesse-Infotainment do you recall what all changes had to be made in FORScan? So far I have a few changes from the DSM and one in the SCCM. The one address 744-28-01, bit 1, Is a DTC bit, but I have no idea what it is for or if it is necessary.

Save yourself the time.. Load all and write all from a 502a in the DSM.

For the SCCM all you need is 724-01-01

I got my wiring harness built for the steering column, but apparently my ineptitude cause me to build a subpar harness. I couldn’t get any of the 7 wires pinned due to misshaped terminal crimps I guess. I’m REALLY annoyed.

These are the two connectors I need to pin to get from the steering column to DSM

I got the new spray nozzle cover installed today, so the truck is whole again.

Also I purchased some tremor tail lights today and got a little bit of “trade in” credit for my stock tails.

Ok, so I confirmed my ineptitude was in fact the issue. I went back and massaged all of the connectors back to proper shape and 6 of the 7 went right in with little to no resistance. The 7th one was a joint signal return, coming back from the DSM I assume, that has 2 wires in one terminal. I had my friend help me pin that one. As always, thanks to all that have helped (especially @JHForman812 , he’s been a lifesaver and has always made himself available to me as his time allows). Now I gotta install the steering column and wire it up. The rest of the wiring *should* be easy (famous last words, right?). And I’ll have my Lariat High.

I also have tail gate letter inserts and fender vent accent stripes that match my center grille coming soon.

After comparing 3 different 502A trucks as-builts to my own, I have found there 6 bits in the DSM that need to change for the powered steering column. 1 more step completed.

Does anyone know what the “relax feature configuration” is in the DSM? Is that the max recline seats?
