Fuel tank question

hi all i bought f150 xlt powe boost 20201 x4
i used to fill the tank full it’s give me 1200 km
when I fill the tank again it gives me 927 km

i am wondering why

I assume you are referring to 'distance to empty' and not actual mileage. Distance to empty is based on your previous tanks mileage. If you get lousy mpg the computer will assume the next tank will be the same. It's basically based on driving habits.

Has anyone figured out (or estimated) the calculation used? When I tow (8-12mpg) and go back to regular driving (20-24mpg) or vice versa the "distance to empty" usually updates pretty quick within a drive or two... or it feels that way!

Wonder if resetting total trip MPG or anything else also affects it? Just some thoughts!

In my observation the DTE number varies greatly during any given tank fill. However, I have also seen that once you get down to less than 200 Miles on the DTE number, it is quite accurate.

What engine, what cab, what box size, what trim package, what options, what country ????

Mine is 36 gallons, a Powerboost is somewhat smaller at 30 or 31 gallons, and the base model regular cab is as small as 23 gallons, and a Supercrew as low as 26.

Sorry, I should have provided more information. The truck is a 2022 F-150 Lariat Supercrew Powerboost. I think it is 30-gallons but am not sure about this capacity, hence the question.

Zengineer hit it. Also, this is not an option item. You cannot upgrade to the 36 gal tank with a PB.

Resetting the both trip meters under Fuel Economy will get it to recalculate as the estimate is gallons in the tank*some average of trip 1 and 2 fuel economy.

oh man, the highest I saw "distance to empty" is 930km on my 22 PB Plat... (normally 800-860 range) how did you squeeze 1200km?

I have only had my Powerboost for about 3 weeks. It has shown over 800 miles to empty after the last 2 fillups. I am getting slightly more than 26mpg. Great fuel mileage so far!!!
