Update - On 9/11/21 I ordered a 2021 Lariat. I received notice today from my dealer, Ford will be converting my order to a 2022. They stated I should be receiving an email from Ford regarding it shortly. I'll post a copy of the email.

I ordered a Rapid Red 2021 Lariat, 501A, long box with Powerboost, Copilot Assist, tow tech package, 7.2 kw, center console, with chrome running boards (did not like Chrome package wheels or sport package), spray in, etc., on 9/15. Dealer reordered on 10/7 as a 2022. As of yesterday, nothing except the 2021 is cancelled.

September 22, 2021 I ordered a Platinum Powerboost - Iconic Silver.
No communication. Spoke with the local ford rep today and they just now converted it to a 2022 Order. No VIN issued. I am not holding out hope I will see it anytime soon.

Be interesting to see when we see the new 2022 GMC Sierra on dealer lots...if this keeps dragging on, I'll definitely give it a look.

The "new" 22 Chev/GMCS will not be available until mid to late 22. What you see now are 21s being offered as 22 Limited Editions; a gap fill for the transition.
Same thing as 2007 to 2007.5s.
All mfr's are having the same issue so hang in there...
By the looks of the initial pricing of those GMs, I would be very patient.
