  1. 2021 F-150 insurance costs

$1009 per 6 in Seattle, WA with two 40+ and a 16 year old. Powerboost, Platinum. No accidents.
  2. Not even 3 weeks in and got t-boned…

What was the other person driving? You can be grateful you were in an F-150 instead of a Miata and didn't sustain any injuries..
  3. Complete Frustration with OTA Updates

I took my 2021 to the dealer over the summer for an oil change and had updates done then. It took the dealer 4 days to update everything. It was another month before hands free updated on its own and started working again. Now the truck gets automated updates. As others mentioned, be careful...
  4. Bed liner vs bed mat

During dark winter months, I prefer scratched factory white paint to a spray in liner. Easier to see and find things.
  5. tire chains

Haven’t tried chains, AutoSocks work well and are a lot easier to put on/take off. Our neighborhood has a really steep hill that even 4x4 isn’t enough to get up.
  6. Car Wash drive thru or at home?

White paint is pretty easy to clean by hand washing at home. I think it is faster to wash at home than to stop at the car wash. I don’t even bother with soap, just water. If you wash at home and care about fishing, be careful with the runoff. Ideally the suds drain into your yard. The storm...
  7. Off Topic (but am very interested in what y’all have to say)

At my work in aerospace, the happiest engineers are the ones with the least debt. Incurring huge loans at fancy schools can be a drag for years while the folks that went to low cost solid state schools are buying houses, new trucks, and starting families. Be patient, I despised my first...
  8. Bluecruise Update Issue at a Dealership

Also have 2021 F-150 Platinum. It went in during July. Updates took 4 days. They said it was a very manual process that would not run overnight.
  9. Ordering Dilemna

I had to drive 1000 miles to Montana to get X Plan on a truck off the lot.
  10. Rental truck?

I have rented several from AVIS.
  11. 2022 Limited arrived w/o Active Park Assist 2.0

There should be 6 sensors per bumper. If there are only 4, doesn’t sound like Ford has any plans to retrofit later.
  12. 2022 Limited arrived w/o Active Park Assist 2.0

I have a 21 with active park assist I found on the lot while I waited for my custom order to come in just the way I want it. I rarely use the auto park despite parking in downtown Seattle streets on a regular basis. The cameras and sensor array make it really easy. Now that the custom order is...
  13. Blue circle of death

I see it about once a week. I use the close button to make it go away.
  14. barebones XL build - will I regret it?

I would definitely miss the 360 cameras and parking sensors at the Home Depot parking lot.
  15. 4 Months - No Vin # - “line queue” ?

From my perspective it is completely random. The weatherman is more accurate at predicting things than a Ford dealer predicting a delivery date. Somebody with the same order as you is going to get their truck months before you and somebody else is going to get it months after you... It was 9...
  16. Who has the oldest open order?

June 21 Platinum order. Just received Ford email scheduled for Production May 2. Powerboost, work surface, spray-in bedliner, no adaptive steering.
  17. $3500 21 to 22 discount.

The truck is still on order, no progress in 9 months. Actually hoping for a 2023 and additional PCOs.
  18. Android Auto random disconnects and reconnects

We drive 4 hours round trip to go skiing every weekend. CarPlay drops at the same golf course both coming and going. Rock solid everywhere else.
  19. Onboard Scales, does yours read 0 when truck is as built off the line (no driver, no additional weight)?

Beware of the automatic taring in Scale Mode. If it is taking you a while to load the truck and it shuts off; when you start the truck back up, the Scale Mode goes back to zero. I actually prefer the standard vehicle mode because of this.
  20. Onboard Scales, does yours read 0 when truck is as built off the line (no driver, no additional weight)?

My fully loaded Platinum is just under the middle bar. The top number is 1356. When the truck was really new, I had a bunch of stuff and the truck weighed on the state scales for registration at 7,200 lbs. (In my country registration is less for a heavy truck.) The bar was just under the red...
