Is there any benefit to keep these OTAs on? Is it even possible to turn them off?Turned off OTAs -- Ford's OTAs are starting to get a little out of hand.
I mentioned in the other thread that the ability to do firmware updates OTA has become like a drug to manufacturers. They cannot resist the urge to constantly monkey around with the system. This whole "pushing" of constant updates to cars is getting ridiculous. These aren't cell phones or apps that need constant tweaking. If you have an issue and an update may fix it, I'd prefer a dealer run it in the shop to make sure it works. Otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. This is a great way to screw things up and after a few of these OTA's, you'll start to lose track of which one nerfed your system up.
More to the point, does this mean Ford is keeping track of your tunes remotely, thus having the ability to reject warranty claims if they identify an aftermarket tune?
I just dropped from EAP. With help from rudedraw, the truck is up to date and am happy with how it is currently.Turned off OTAs -- Ford's OTAs are starting to get a little out of hand.
