Trying to connect MP3 player so can hear through speakers

Hoping someone has done this. Trying to hook up MP3 player to audio or at least be able to hear it through the speakers. Have tried bluetooth, player doesn't find the truck, tried plugging in USB player, not an option to add to audio menu. Any suggestions please?

Another 'thumbs-up' for the USB option. You can organize them in folders, add Album Art and use the Voice Interaction button on the steering wheel to play a song or album or artist.
