Mine fell down and was hitting the driveshaft long making a sound noise. Happened several months ago long before the recall came about. Brought it to the dealer and they glued it back up. Been good since.

I noticed the EXACT same thing when I did mine but way worse

I mentioned it in a different thread and ford motor opened up a case on it.

I wiped some off with my finger and it was clearly carbon.

Stopped by a local muffler/front end shop that I trust and showed the owner who said “ that’s a lot of carbon for 11k but the eco boost engines will do that. It’s just carbon coming out of the weep holes

Since we're comparing carbon build up, this is ~13k miles:

Fixed it myself! Couple of rivets, washers widely available at your Home Depot, a drill and a riveting tool is all you need!

Probably more secure than the dealer job!

I would have taken it in, but in my area there is at least 2 weeks wait time to get your truck to even look at. That means, my truck would have been sitting in their lot for 2 weeks before them touching it, with no loaner or rental available. I needed to get this fixed ASAP as I am about to go for a long drive in few days, so I decided to take matters into my own hands :)

I did mine myself too. Had the washers (1-1/2 outside dia.) and rivets already just needed the sealer. I used OSI Quad Clear from Lowes (same as seam sealer just longer cure time and way cheaper). The Passenger side front was starting to hang but not enough to touch anything. Cleaned areas with alcohol measured per instructions dilled the holes with ease, did not remove the drive shaft as my drill barely had room to fit between the drive shaft and fuel tank. Every where else was plenty of room.

I'm probably too late for you to cancel your service appointment but for others my advice is don't take your truck to the dealer for anything if it is subject to the recall. Check it yourself to see if your truck has the problem, fix it yourself it the insulation is sagging. Wait to take it to the dealer until they can assure you that they have the parts to do the recall repair.
I took my truck in for it's first service and it was subject to the recall and "failed" inspection for 21S56. That was 8 days ago and as of yesterday the "emergency order parts" were still not in and not expected until late next week. That will be 2 weeks in the shop if the parts actually come next week. When they first told me that they had to order parts I asked if I could pick the truck up and come back when they had the parts. Since it's considered a safety issue, once diagnosed they cannot release the truck back for me to use.
They gave you a loaner/rental right?

Just got mine fixed. Took 90 minutes.

Sat and watched the hot chick on HGTV fix up houses and drank coffee.

luckily the dealer had the “parts” on hand.

What module updates did you get and did they resolve any other issues?

I would like to know as well, I swear something is different about the way my truck drives.....in a good way. I think the transmission is smoother.

My parts arrived and my recall was completed today.
  1. Brought it in at 8:30 am today- free shuttle ride to my home 4.5 miles away. I was in and back at my house within 30 minutes.
  2. Picked it up at 6:30 pm - The service manager himself picked me up at my house to bring me back to the dealership.

I got my truck back on Friday 1/27, 2weeks + 1day in the shop. Delay in receiving the parts was the problem, my driveline had to be replaced. At least they provided a loaner.
My console armrest problem was also fixed, it doesn't fall on the back of my hand anymore.
