I decided to regain some of the mpg lost with my Nitto RG 295/60/20. After much contemplation and study I landed on the Toyo AT3 as the best compromise of off road capability and fuel efficiency. I prefer the look of 285/60/20 and Toyo offers that in a lighter package than most, but ultimately went with 275/60/20. Might as well go with the lighter of the two plus 285 non LT are scarce.

The 295s got 19.4 mpg over the last 2500 miles compared to 23 on stock Hankooks. I’ll update after I adjust the speedometer and get a few miles on the Toyo 275s.

Comparing the Nitto and Toyo ( E rated vs SL rated) is interesting. The Toyo are a little softer riding but not a huge difference. The Toyo might be SLIGHTLY quieter? The sound produced by each is somewhat different- I think the Toyo is a little higher frequency which makes sense considering the smaller tread blocks. I’m not sure if it’s a less comfortable background noise or if it’s just different and new so I’m noticing it more.

Shout out to @Discount Tire for hooking me up with a promotion I didn’t see on their website and setting up the order with my local store. Tires ordered at noon and installed same day. Can’t beat that!

They look great! I'd be interested in a comparison between the stock tires and these. I don't have too much confidence in the Pirellis off road...

There’s also a Pirelli all terrain plus (different from the atr, some people get confused) which appears to be a mild off road tire

Great choice! sometimes i wonder if i really needed to go with the E-Rated Toyo's but i dont think the ride is all that bad. i know my MPG's suffer a bit since i avg 16-17 MPG's now. but i do like them as a tire.

Those look great. I have the same color truck. I really liked my last set of TOYOs on my old truck but went back with the stock Pirellis for $$ reasons. You mind sharing what they cost out the door?

I have the exact tire on my 2023 Lariat (second set on two different F150s) ... the hankook are paper thin and I had a blow out where I ran over something on the freeway and the tire was destroyed. I keep them aired to 37 each, ride and noise are more then the stock set, but the confidence is much better (not to mention the look). I have about 32K miles on this set and they look great, probably about half the tread left - rotate every oil change at 5K miles, adds some cost but I think I can easily get 65K miles before really needing to replace. Mileage is 19 to 20 pretty consistently, about 1/2 to 1 less than the hankooks.

Even though I live in SoCal, I drive in snow on unplowed roads (max about 10 inches) and very seldom some mud - you will be very happy with how these perform in the deep bad stuff - especially as you have a stock truck otherwise.

I do like the aggressive look of the Nitto RG better. If it were up to me, I'd make a tire with the Nitto outer lug and sidewall and the Yoko G015 center tread.

With the President's day special and 5% off for using Discount Tire credit card they were $1326+tax. (I skipped the replacement certificates and disposal fee)

Great post. I'm in this same tire dilemma with the same sizes. How are you adjusting for tire size? Hoping for a solution besides Forscan

I'm using Forscan but a Livernois tuner will do it also.

Thank you. Forscan scares me. I typically don't have much luck with things like that.

Did you see any MPG change with the Livernois tune? I'd really want their tune only to unlock e mode that allows you more use of the electric only mode. The truck makes plenty of power for me.

Forscan is a little intimidating at first but if you watch some videos on it and take your time it's not to difficult.

For what it's worth my Forscan settings for the Toyo 275/60/20 SL were different than the stock settings...

Some have reported an mpg increase with E boost compared to regular LIvernois tunes but I have not noticed an increase. That might be due to changes in my driving patterns or winter gas. I just don't have good data to say one way or the other. I'd say my mpg stayed about the same tuned vs stock. Having it tuned does increase the tendency to enjoy that extra power which is horrible for mpgs! 😁

What pressures are you running? Try 42 front / 40 rear when not hauling heavy / towing. I think you'll find the ride a little better running higher pressures. Piggyboost is heavy. With the stock tires I found higher pressure to produce a better ride (more responsive / firm feeling) especially cornering.
