New OTA 3.5.3.2 Software being pushed out (This is 3.5.3 but for 2022 model year trucks)

After reading in PTS, I gathered as much. Just find it odd that the trigger was after driving it. Updates are scheduled for 6am.

Update schedule means nothing unless it is an update that requires the vehicle to be inhibited. If the OTA does not require vehicle inhibition, it will auto-install even if you have auto updates set to off.

Do you guys leave the OBDLink MX+ plugged in all the time even if the truck is off? Does it go to sleep?

I do leave mine in and I guess I can't confirm it goes to sleep, but when I open the door there are no lights on it until I start the truck, and battery life doesn't seem to be affected. It's been plugged in for about 2 months.

Powered down at 2:20 waiting for my kid at school, started the truck at 2:30 and the update was downloaded and installed. Loooks so much nicer now!

And just got 3.5.4 today, same time… same wait - weird since my truck is set to update around 10pm

I also thought the wireless adapter would do forescan. I would pull the trigger on the wireless if I knew for sure.

Not sure if this was answered, but it certainly does.
I have this exact unit and I've done tons of Forscan stuff with it, my laptop has bluetooth and is also like 6 years old. I'm betting almost all new laptops have bluetooth.

I got 3.5.2 back in October. Nothing since. Just today I tried disabling automatic updates. I then went to Update Details, and it said 3.5.3 is pending, however the Update Now button is grayed out - when I press it it just says that there are no updates pending that require downtime.

previously, I had automatic updates, enabled, and when I pressed the update details button, it would just say my system is up-to-date.

So, not sure how to get the update that is apparently pending to kick off. Any help is appreciated!


Update/edit: literally 15 Minutes or so after typing this, I got a notice from the ford app that the update was applied - not sure how, as I left automatic updates off, but I’ll take it.

Auto updates only applies to updates that requires the vehicle to be inhibited. Updates that don't require that will install even with auto updates off.

See the quote from rugedraw I put above yours, the scheduled time is only for updates that require vehicle downtime.

I'm not sure how scientific it was or if anything I did actually helped, but here is what I did.

Basically rugedraw checked this morning and saw that 3.5.3.2 is pending but had not downloaded anything yet, so I found an AT&T tower and parked it near it for a half an hour.
I used this map.

Man wish I knew for sure before I ordered. I got the EX and it will be here tomorrow. That would be sweet to have the benefits of both.

Maybe I should just order the MX+ and send the EX back??

Looks like most of us Canadians get them the same day the 3.5.3 was pushed out but later at late evenings/night instead of during the day like most US owners have. Also looks like a few in other forums are mentioning they’re getting 3.5.4 that’s being pushed out right after. I‘m impressed.

Could always return it...... Wireless one is more expensive, but super convenient.

I received 3.5.3.2 this evening. Couple of observations...

My truck has been connected to wifi since bringing it home and that was the end of October.
I don't drive very often so the trunk ends up being attached to a tender for days, sometimes a week at time.

Oddly enough when I left home on Jan 11 to run a few errands I received 3.5.2 - The download icon showed up within 10 mins of me leaving the house. Download and install completed while I was out running errands.

Fast forward to this evening. I was out again running errands and the download icon showed up as I was driving home. After I got home the truck connected to wifi. I went inside and came out 20 mins later to leave and the download icon was gone when I started the truck.

I drove off, wifi out of range down the street and the download icon re-appeared. The. 3.5.3.2 update completed about 30 mins after that.

Could being connected to wifi actually prevent updates from being downloaded?

Yes my experience could be a pure fluke. I ended up dropping the wifi connection in the truck by having it forget the wifi network.

Until an actual need for wifi connectivity shows up I'm leaving it not connected.

Both 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 has been pushed on my ‘22 Lariat 502A. Both yesterday. The 3.5.3 was pushed to my 2021 XLT 302A work truck; the unreal theme with F/S CarPlay is so awesome!
