Do you run in tow/haul mode or just manually shift in normal mode?
I run in tow/haul and manually shift in order to keep RPMs up and minimize the turbo boost on the steep climbs. Lock out 8,9,10

Hi all this is Bob ,I’m new to your site and glad to be here a lot of good info available ,
I have a question on my 3.5L power boost , does any body know the correct setting to use in trailer settings , i have a 24’ Jayco trailer the Jayco 24RL Jay Feather question is I’m only getting 6.8 to 7.4 MPG is this right ? Can’t believe this , i figure i must of set up something wrong ,sorry this a 2023 F-150 , i had a 2021 Ranger pulling the same trailer and i got 15-16 MPG
Thanks for any reply’s appreciated have a great one
Most of the time on my PB, I seem to get low to mid 10's. Maybe 10.2 to 10.6. It can be worse or better of course, depending on wind and terrain.

I always lock out 10/9/8 gears. I've found that by running in 7th gear, I don't use as much boost, which translate into better mileage. Also, while I now use Tow/Haul mode most of the time, if I'm in stop and go traffic I will change back to Normal mode. This lets me take advantage of the electric motor.

I pull a 24' Coachmen Freedom Express 20SE. GVWR of 6,000#.

I pull at about 63 mpg, and never over 65 mph. I also use 87 octane gas, even when towing.

Speed is the biggest killer of towing MPG, and if heavier LT tires were added to the mix.

I wouldn't say horrific. My PB averages about 1 mpg better than my old 2014 Gen 1 EB.

Have you tried sport mode? Seems like it might be a slightly better fit by using engine braking and regen.

Sport Mode instead of Normal? Or Tow/Haul?

21 PB towing a 26’ mini lite, cruise set at 67 and averages 9.2 on trip from Flagstaff to Glenwood Springs with rv park in Rifle and Palisade. Compared to 21 tundra it is so much better. Quiet is the biggest plus then the Tow mode does excellent job downshifting to keep speed from getting away, tundra had to do a manual downshift then a lot of RPm noise. Hey the 9.1 is about where I was with the tundra and the PB is simply a better TV.
