While FORD plays Hide-The-Ball with details and the internet “auto reviewers” miss the mark as they focus their attention to expanding creative writing skills: Can anyone help me tackle this question and help me find an answer to this mystery? The known facts and dollar amount makes this too hard to ignore.
I have spent hours trying to complete a thorough cost analysis of two near identical builds to support a fact-based order/buy decision, and I have decided at this point to raise the white flag and ask for help. Any inquiring minds out there with the resource or time on their hands willing to tackle this riddle?
This involves:
2022 F-150®
XLT Regular Cab 8’ Bed HDPP
BASE MSRP
$41,855 *1
OPTIONS & ACCESSORIES + $11,700
DESTINATION CHARGES + $1,695
TOTAL MSRP = $55,250
Vs.
2022 F-150®
XL Regular Cab 8’ Bed HDPP
BASE MSRP
$34,935 - $6,920 [- $4,670 ]
OPTIONS & ACCESSORIES + $13,950 + $2,250
DESTINATION CHARGES + $1,695
TOTAL MSRP = $50,580 -$4,670
-Mid-Analysis ASSUMPTIONS-
No XL Options will provide SecuriCode® – Keyless-Entry Keypad
No XL Options will provide Remote Start System with Remote Tailgate Release
No XL Options will provide Power Seats
No XL Options will provide Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirrors
No XL Options will provide Power Windows
No XL Options will provide Visor Vanity Mirrors
XL High Power Equipment Group WILL PROVIDE Power/Remote Door Locks
XL 40/20/40 Cloth bench seats appear different – XL doesn’t list a description as having XLT's open console/under seat storage features
ABOVE differences GROSSLY FAIL to justify IMO the overall $4,670 cost difference added to the XLT's price tag.
----- So exactly what are the complete material feature differences between these otherwise nearly exact, fully loaded F-150 XLT RCLB HDPP (+ $4,670) and the fully loaded F-150 XL RCLB HDPP? What unknown valuable features/items justify the bottom-line, seemingly unaccounted-for $4,670 cost difference?
