Dealership/Ford built my 2021 F150 wrong...

Hi,

Been lurking for a while ordered my 2021 F150 XLT PB back in June and finally got built Oct 13 (I was able to pull up a window sticker)... I was SUPER HAPPY AND ALL until I looked at the build...and it is WRONG (CAN THE WINDOW STICKER GENERATOR BE WRONG or the VIN AS WELL? :p My VIN started as 1FTFW1C not W1E)

They built a 4x2 Supercrew when I ordered a 4x4 (So of course I didn't get the FX4 packages as well), while scrolling into the equipment section I also noticed they also missed the 7.2kW Pro power as well.

As I haven't taken delivery of the truck yet, I believe it is in transit to the dealership here in Ontario, Canada.

What type of recourse/help I can get now... beside waiting for another 4-5 months for them to rebuild it? (I did want to add the onboard scale with smart hitch)

My current vehicle NEEDS to be retired and won't last another Canadian Winter

Did you check with your dealer to confirm it is exactly your truck and not another ordered vehicle? If it is the correct vehicle, I would take my original order sheet to the dealer and show them the difference. But if the vehicle is built not much you can do in regards to that specific truck. May have to place another order or try and find another vehicle.

Did the dealer print out your build? Mine printed it out and I signed that it was correct. I also signed what the cost of the truck was going to be. That would have been a tell tell sign that it was off, since the cost would probably be off on the online build tool.

Best case scenario is that it's the wrong VIN.

Wow, 4x2 instead of 4x4 is a pretty bad mistake. Any chance they maybe just gave you someone else’s VIN by mistake? If the 4x2 and ProPower are the only things wrong then it would seem hard to believe it’s someone else’s truck.

And I doubt anyone is intentionally ordering a 4x2 in Canada. They very well may have screwed up the order. My dealer had me sign the paper showing it all so we were all in agreement the order was correct.

Oh of course I have the paper I signed on (hardcopy)

I hope they gave me the wrong VIN cause don't think I want to wait another 5-6 months lo

Going to be an interesting call when the dealership opens today

My order number was 9212 (if I'm looking at the right place)

Your order code "should" be on the build sheet that you signed. It also appears on your window sticker. See below for both.

So, it sounds like yours match and that is, unfortunately, your order.

I didn't get a build sheet, all I got was this yellow hardcopy with all my info on it (equipment and upgrades)

From what I can tell it is my order and they did F*** it up big time... ?‍♂

HOW... LoL... Not 1 but 3 mistakes...

If they have to reorder your truck, definitely talk with the general manager at your dealer about working with their regional ford rep to get you a higher priority code since they messed up…

Ford dealers use a program to order retail units (the same program that spits out those really nice preview sheets) that's really intuitive and easy to use with drop-down menus. It's so difficult to screw an order up, let alone screw an order up THAT bad.

If it was a fleet order the program they use for those is a very aged keystroke type system where you have to type all of the body codes and option codes manually. Easy to screw an order up with that but this one has me scratching my head.

I would sit down with the GSM and get a scheduled unsold unit that can be modified into your specs and have him sweeten the deal you had.
