Hey all,

I recently bought an F150 Tremor, and I'm wondering if putting on slightly larger tires (stock to 34.5" - 35") would impact the functionality of 4A. I've heard that 4A doesn't function properly with larger tires, but I wanted to confirm.

Thanks.

I’m running 34.8” tires on my Powerboost and haven’t had any issues with 4A on my truck.

At least in the 1st gen. 4A on my Navigator, they recommend to stay with OEM tire sizes; while the most important thing is that each tire is the same diameter, otherwise the computer controlling the transfer case will get confused and not function as intended.

So cheaper tires and ones where they don’t have the best tolerances should be avoided as well as scheduled tire rotation.

No issues with 34s and 35s in this generation of trucks with 4a. Just be sure to make sure they're all the same -- don't forget your spare. If you don't have 5 of the same wheels and want to use the 5 wheel rotation method, find a decent used tire of the same size to put on the spare.
